Job Description:

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong background in sales and management with the desire to set their own schedule and grow with our company. As a commission only position, our current Regional Operations Managers make anywhere from $45,000 to $85,000 annually while working, on average, 25 hours a week.

The Regional Operations Manager (ROM) is responsible for the north-western region including Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish County.

The ROM will interview, build, and manage their team of employees utilizing our company offices centrally located in Bellingham and Lynwood.

The ROM will be responsible for acquiring new clients within their region, the ROM will be supplied with the necessary tools and training in order to effectively acquire new clients. The ROM will work-from-home for the majority of the time, however, occasional traveling to farms and company offices within the region may be required as necessary.

This position operates within Washington's recreational cannabis industry, however, previous experience or knowledge with recreational cannabis is not required. Necessary training will be provided.

The responsibilities of the Regional Operations Manager with The Harvest Company include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage all daily operations for the region--interact with and oversee all community, client, and employee relations.
  • Conduct interviews and finalize hiring decisions, continually building the region's workforce.
  • Create and assign work schedules for employees based on the work requirements and employee's proven skills.
  • Appropriately assign employees to jobs based on their skills and experience.
  • Act as a liaison between new clients and the contract management department.
  • Act as a liaison between employees and the human resources/payroll departments.
  • Cold calls.
  • Thoroughly understand the specific needs of clients.
  • Keep up-to-date on any industry-related news or changes.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with existing and new clients in person and via telephone calls and emails.
  • Respond to incoming email and phone enquiries.
  • Negotiate the terms of service contracts and close sales.
  • Constantly gather, learn, and utilize market, industry, and client information.
  • Make accurate, rapid cost calculations and provide potential clients with quotations.
  • Record client information, details, and service history within CRM software.
  • Email and social media marketing.
  • Oversee compliance reporting and employee evaluations.
  • Occasional cash-handling and mailing documents to the company headquarters.
  • Occasional traveling to work-site locations may be required as necessary.
  • Occasional errands relating to work-site supplies.
  • Providing direct support to the Executive Director when needed.
  • Daily and weekly check-ins with the Executive Director.
  • Additional responsibilities may be required as necessary.

Position Requirements:

  • Open availability--The right candidate will be capable of answering their phone or replying to text messages at any time from 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M., 7 days a week. Effective communication and maintaining client/employee relations is the essence of success as the Regional Operations Manager.
  • Previous cold calling experience and exceptional phone etiquette.
  • Previous experience interviewing and making hiring decisions.
  • Must be familiar with general laws and practices surrounding interviews, employment, and hiring processes.
  • Previous experience developing and implementing employee work schedules.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the company's time-keeping and employee-scheduling software.
  • Previous experience managing at least 10 employees.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
  • Data entry experience.
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Calendar, Excel, Word).
  • Basic math and arithmetic skills.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP.
  • Basic understanding of payroll practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and writing skills.
  • Reliable smartphone with the ability to send/receive picture messages.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Working webcam and microphone required for teleconferencing.
  • Cash-handling experience preferred.
  • Social media and email marketing experience preferred.

Minimum Work/Education Requirements:

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Associate Degree with proven management and sales experience may substitute for a BS/BA.
  • 3+ years management experience.
  • 3+ years sales experience.

Additional Minimum Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Valid Driver's License/ID Card
  • Must pass background check
