Position Description
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of quality operations, including documentation control, training, auditing, manufacturing and R&D processes and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. In addition, this role will support the implementation of Quality Management Systems and Environment, Health and Safety programs. Responsibilities
- Support R&D team by creating, implementing and maintaining best practices for laboratory, product development, commercialization and manufacturing operations, including a robust Quality Management System, Quality Policies, Procedures and training plans
- Lead in the collection and/or creation and maintenance of documentation required for technology transfer to customers, including formulae, specifications, manufacturing processes and SOPs, Quality Plans, etc.
- Assess/Audit licensees existing quality systems and provide gap assessment
- Assist in preparing and training on new procedures to fill gaps in quality systems, as needed
- Assist in creating, executing and managing training programs for clients
- Ensure Cannabistry Labs’ laboratory is commissioned and operating to meet all Colorado State regulations, including security and surveillance requirements, Inventory Tracking Systems (ITS), Transport and Logistics, record keeping and logs, etc.
- Responsible for reviewing and maintaining all laboratory documentation, including but not limited to notebooks, protocols and reports, in accordance with Colorado state regulations
- Assist in creating, executing and maintaining an audit program for the laboratory and vendors
- Assist in continuous improvement, execution and maintenance of HACCP for the development laboratory
- Assist in creating, executing and managing training programs for employees
- Maintain all applicable training records and documentation in accordance with current Colorado regulations
- Influencing a culture of high-performance, with commitment to principles and policies as laid out by Cannabistry Labs management, including commitment to highest level of safety, compliance and quality
Requirements
- 3-5 years in a Quality and/or Product Transfer/Commercialization role in a Pharmaceutical or Food & Beverage industry
- Prefer 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing setting in regulated industry (e.g. pharmaceutical or food & beverage)
- Previous experience with internal and external auditing and implementing and executing improvement/remediation plans. Implementation of HACCP and SQF Food Safety Management Systems, highly desirable
- Experience interfacing with clients in a consulting and/or training role, driving cultural change within an organization and utilizing high level of communication
- High-level of knowledge and experience with implementing robust Environment, Health and Safety agenda
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
