Job Description:

This position is responsible for the coordination of everyday lab operations. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for interpreting, applying, and implementing standards, rules and regulations the laboratory.

General Responsibilities:

-Maintain smooth laboratory work flow

-Overseeing and directing the scientific methods of the laboratory

-Ensuring that the laboratory achieves and maintains a laboratory quality assurance program

-Perform analytical tests in the laboratory

-Assist with laboratory administrative duties

-May require troubleshooting and performing equipment tuning and maintenance, and analysis of data used for laboratory quality control with instruments such as HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS/MS, and ICP-MS

*Must be comfortable around Cannabis products.

Job description includes:

Update, revise and maintain Laboratory QA Manual, SOP's and other quality documents. Maintain chemical/equipment traceability records and generating control charts. Perform internal audits of the laboratory, including both technical and quality systems. Perform, document, and follow up with corrective action reports. Will be required to occasionally perform analytical tests in the laboratory assigned by the lab manager. Assist lab manager in reviewing analytical reports. Monitoring lab inventory and ordering lab supplies as needed. Monitoring turnaround times. Perform routine repairs and maintenance of lab equipment. Calibration of pipettes, thermometers, and other measuring equipment. Maintain training records for all lab staff. Schedule and pass proficiency testing for all analytes.

Preferred Qualities: Team player. Ability to work with minimal supervision, attention to detail, willing to accept additional responsibilities. Strong organization skills.

Work Experience:

- Experience with ISO Accrediation

- Extensive knowledge and experience in Quality management

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel

- Experience in Chemistry AND Microbiology

Education Requirements:

(1) A doctoral degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences

from an accredited college or university;

(2) A master's degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences

from an accredited college or university, plus at least 2 years of full-time practical experience; or

(3) A bachelor's degree in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences

from an accredited college or university, plus at least 4 years of full-time practical experience.
