JOB PURPOSE

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for coordinating with the Production and Warehouse teams in four states to forecast and procure supplies as needed, and to manage the purchasing and procurement teams in Oregon. They will also work closely with our Inventory Manager and Inventory Drivers to ensure on-time deliveries to our various branches. This individual must be able to multi-task, work quickly and efficiently, and be adaptable to change priorities and tasks as needed. We have a very fast- paced environment as we continue to grow and expand. Must be motivated, trustworthy, and a team player. Above all, they must be a positive and effective leader who is able to motivate and build a team, and who can interact with managers from various locations in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the purchasing and procurement teams.
  • Interacting closely with warehouse managers in multiple states to help keep track of physical inventory.
  • Checking Inventory spreadsheets daily to keep an eye on inventory.
  • Evaluate and forecast proper timelines for reordering product.
  • Keep track of new production projects and determining what products and what quantities will need to be ordered.
  • Create new product SKU's and naming conventions.
  • Request quotes and create PO's for vendors.
  • Send all invoices to AP and keep track of scheduled product ETA's.
  • Check in with Production teams weekly to see what supplies may be needed.
  • Communicate with other states in need of product and decipher actual needs.
  • Help other states with proper inventory tracking.
  • Strategically source materials and negotiate supplier contracts, as appropriate.
  • Keep track of vendor OOR's and request them when needed.
  • Manage suppliers and the inbound supply chain performance.
  • Coordinate purchasing activities with manufacturing and engineering to maintain inventory at planned levels. Interface with accounting and receiving to resolve problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have proven management experience
  • Expert knowledge of Google Sheets and Excel
  • Experience with NAV preferred
  • Inventory forecasting experience
  • Customer service or vendor communication background preferred
  • Possess high Attention to Detail, Analytical Problem Solving and Leadership skills;
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skill

COMPENSATION

Compensation depends on experience.
