Job Description:

Summary
The Purchasing Manager supports, develops, and acts as the dotted line to all Purchasing Buyers, while also providing oversight and
approving purchases of goods and services from suppliers. This role continually analyzes changes or issues in supply to reduce cost,
improve quality, or improve schedules. This position provides continuity to the Purchasing department by working closely with the
Buyers of the different divisions and the Procurement department to implement strategy and strategic direction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage department budgets
  • Set, develop, and manage objectives and goals for the Purchasing department
  • Manage daily purchasing functions
  • Review orders and oversee materials and services from suppliers
  • Execute short-term and long-term process improvement projects
  • Identify and drive out non-value-added activities
  • Build and facilitate relationships that result in strong partnerships with stakeholders
  • Proactively identify improvements and support/qualify/sell/communicate these ideas to management
  • Contribute to positive morale within your team and embrace a diverse and entrepreneurial culture
  • Awareness of cultural, currency, geographical and political issues
  • Process and analyze information to make informed data driven decisions and recommendations
  • All other tasks and job duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred
  • Preferred APICS certifications

Training

  • Must maintain current knowledge of and adhere to all policy and regulations of the Colorado Marijuana Enforcement Division (MED); Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE), and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and TGS Management

Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous Purchasing work experience
  • Skilled in the use of the Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems with knowledge in electronic collaboration tools
  • Experience with ERP systems, preferably Dynamics NAV
  • Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of processing, data, and statistical software.
  • Excellent influential, collaborative, and relationship building skills
  • High-level attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Ability to task prioritize with shifting workload in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of Colorado marijuana laws, MED regulations, and CDPHE requirements; Previous marijuana industry experience preferred with priority given to candidates with experience in CO licensed facilities
  • Cannabis industry experience preferred

  • Must be able to individually lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift for long periods of time

Work Requirements

  • Must be able to work in an office environment with moderate to loud noise level
  • Must be able to work off-site in retail, manufacturing, or production facilities with moderate to loud noise level and changing working conditions’ May require use of safety equipment or personal protective equipment, as needed.
  • Must have and be able to maintain aa valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to acquire MED Key badge ($300 Fee to State of CO) prior to beginning employment

Travel Requirements

  • Regularly requires local travel, as needed
