Champlain Valley Dispensary (CVD) is seeking a full-time Purchasing and Inventory Manager.

The position will oversee and maintain the purchasing system and finished goods inventory for CVD, Inc. and Ceres LLC.

The ideal candidate is someone who wants to contribute to the success of a company who is an industry leader and known for setting the the bar high! We’re looking for someone who will excel as a team member in a fast-paced, non-stop environment, within a tightly controlled, state regulated system.

Summary of duties:

Oversight of Purchasing for all Divisions

  • Work with company department and division managers to determine purchasing needs and requirements for production, wholesale, and all items bought for resale at retail locations.
  • Identify the most appropriate supplier for the designated product, determine availability, perform comparative pricing and negotiate pricing, confirm quality of products, and establish delivery requirements/timelines.
  • Perform all purchasing functions, such as issuing purchase orders (POs), verifying receipt of product and price as well as working with accounting to perform reconciliations.
  • Identify and resolve any and all issues related to product quality, pricing, and delivery.
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring that there is an adequate forecast and supply management to meet the divisions demands in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Responsible for supporting initiatives to plan, organize, and administer subordinate staff development. Provide guidance to employees relative to their daily decision making and interactions with personnel from other departments within the company.

Oversight of Finished Goods Inventory

  • Responsible for eliminating and preventing surplus inventory.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts, spot counts, and month end reconciliation process; research any variances and authorize appropriate inventory adjustments.
  • Conduct records audit of inventory, adjustments and other metrics and prepare monthly/ quarterly/ annual reports of findings to management.
  • Ensures supply meets demand and that there is adequate back stock of all product.
  • Maintains and updates all SOP’s for purchasing and inventory.
  • Ensure that all procedures are consistent with Vermont State Medical Marijuana Program Guidelines.

Required qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a closely related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years experience in purchasing and inventory control in a medium to a large size production company.

Knowledge:

  • Must have a high degree of Supply Chain and Inventory management acumen, and conscientious and ethical leadership skills to ensure the proper responsible expenditure of company funds.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization, patience, and flexibility in a faced- paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Must be self-directed, organized, and detail-oriented with strong problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Must be flexible, team-oriented person with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to work effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to promote teamwork style relationship between departments and retail locations.
  • Ability to follow guidelines set forth by the Vermont State Medical Marijuana Program.
  • Proficiency in Macintosh software, Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn new software systems that are specific to the industry.
  • Must successfully complete a criminal record check with the Vermont Crime Information Center.
