Proposal/Technical Writer

Brightroot is seeking to employ a Proposal/Technical Writer at its Corporate Headquarters located in Phoenix, Arizona. Brightroot is a professional management services provider that specializes in serving the Medical Cannabis community. The work environment is fast paced and non-traditional. Position Summary

The Proposal/Technical Writer coordinates, develops, and writes proposals, operational plans, and technical documents. The Proposal/Technical Writer will study a Request for Proposals (RFP) and package the Company's services into a written narrative in response to the RFP. Ensures that the content is compliant, compelling, and persuasive in accordance with the solicitation and all referenced documents.

Responsibilities

  • Primarily involved with writing, editing, and conceptual development of technical content to create compelling, compliant, and responsive proposals.
  • Participates in all phases of the proposal process including proposal strategy planning, content development, internal review, production, and performance analysis.
  • Reads and reviews Requests For Proposals (RFP) and ensures developed content is compliant with proposal instructions and criteria.
  • Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval.
  • Conducts research if needed on RFP technical/functional areas to gain better understanding of areas to be addressed and responded to.
  • Determines proposal requirements and collaborates with other professionals (company executives, technical and subject matter experts, and contractors) to solicit and capture information in order to develop required content.
  • Integrates review comments from multiple sources into the proposal ensuring compliance with RFP and consistency throughout.
  • Manages several proposals simultaneously in a high-volume, time-sensitive, quick-turn environment.
  • Remains current with the Company’s services, products, and messaging to ensure the Company’s competitive advantage is clearly communicated and understood in proposals and client-facing materials.
  • Participates in ongoing continuous improvement of the proposal development process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (English, Journalism, Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in preparing written proposals, writing contracts, and/or developing technical content and/or documents.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Office and other management software.
  • Strong Communication (oral and written), organizational, and planning skills.
  • Able to work on multiple proposals and tasks in parallel in a time-sensitive environment and meet all deadlines.
  • Skilled in self-management, balancing competing priorities, and working against multiple deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills - planning, execution, issue resolution, and control.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

Experience: 3+ years Proposal, Contract, or Technical Writing

Education: Bachelor's Degree
