Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Continuing Educator II (Program Director) in the Department of Humanities and Sciences, the Program Representative III (Program Manager) manages the planning and the implementation of a diverse portfolio of courses, including degree credit courses, certificate programs, specializations, professional-level continuing education courses and workshops, conferences and events. Overall, the position manages a budget of approximately $1,500,000 annually in fee income revenue, with approximately 100 courses and 1500 enrollments.

The portfolio includes academic subject matter in diverse disciplines including: applied sciences, sustainability, public policy, environmental science, ecology and other related fields. Demonstrated expertise or interest in one or more of these subject areas is desirable.

The position coordinates all unit activities and supervises the unit's administrative staff, including a part-time Program Representative II. General job functions include working collaboratively with Program Director on: strategic planning; developing existing and new programs; initiating institutional, campus, and external community relations; providing administrative oversight for curriculum development and assessment; supporting the Program Director in staff recruitment and performance reviews; coordinating the logistics of various programs; staying current with trends and resources available in the professional and academic program areas; responding effectively to inquiries about courses, certificates, conferences from students, instructors, and professionals; training and supervising staff; communicating with the Marketing Department on quarterly catalog publications, subsites, brochures, flyers, newsletters, and other marketing collateral and other promotional campaigns and strategies; budget management including decisions about running low enrollment courses, monitoring quarterly expenses, and assisting the financial analyst with fiscal year projections and mid-year revisions.

The Program Representative III will have direct program implementation responsibility for the following: Academic Certificate in Sustainability; Academic Certificate in Environmental Studies; Academic Specialization in Sustainable Business and Management; Land Use Law and Planning Annual Conference; Academic Specialization in Wind Energy; Academic Specialization in Water Management; Programs in public policy, commerce and science related to cannabis; and other related program currently in development. Program Representative III will also play a key role in the research, development and implementation of new courses and programs that are consistent with the vision for the unit. .

Educational activity formats include but are not limited to: weekend workshops; multiple-day conferences of varying complexity; evening and daytime regular academic courses and programs of varying length; online/distance learning courses; contract programs for domestic and international clients.

Some evening and weekend work is required.
