General Summary:

The Production Supervisor (Cultivation) is responsible for overseeing a 15,000 square foot medical cannabis production facility in Worcester, Massachusetts pursuant to and in compliance with local and state laws and regulations, including especially MA CMR 725 et seq. This individual is the manager-in-charge of a range of day-to-day tasks at one facility. The Production Supervisor (Cultivation) will, based on the production schedule, identify work tasks, schedule, train, and manage production associates, and concisely and clearly communicate needs to senior management for staffing, supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:


  • Ensure staff compliance with all applicable government regulations, Temescal standard operating procedures(SOPs), including sanitation, security, workplace safety, confidentiality, and seed-to-sale software requirements, among others.
  • Plan and facilitate the start-up of the Worcester cultivation program, to include sourcing of medical cannabis genetics; allocation of resources and production planning; and participation in inspectional protocols required by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) to ensure a final certificate of registration is achieved.
  • Manage, train and schedule a team of production associates. Manage plant scheduling and organization to precisely project all cultivation needs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to keep plants healthy and expenses . Contribute to SOP development and training materials.
  • Manage and maintain a wide array of supplemental lighting systems; environmental control systems; irrigation systems; nutrient systems; and other similar systems utilized in the cultivation and processing of cannabis and its by-products. Assist with facility maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Perform all the tasks related to the cultivation of medical cannabis plants, and train and oversee others in performing those tasks, including: tissue culture, cloning, transplanting, feeding plants, defoliation, super cropping, topping, flushing, pest monitoring, foliar and preventative sprays, harvesting, trimming, packaging, waste disposal and inventory management.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized work environment.
  • Plan, implement and document an Integrated Pest Management plan. Continually enhance knowledge of plant diseases, insects and fungi, as well as plant treatment options. Managing and modifying nutrient regimens including both soil-based and hydroponic systems.
  • Maintain an accurate database, analyzing each individual strain from clone to flower to harvest to trimming and curing, using seed to sale software and associated tracking spreadsheets.
  • Monitor and support employee safety, morale and productivity. Assist with the employee life cycle, including recruiting, interviewing, training, online scheduling, time and attendance and performance management.
  • Aid staff in preparing for audits and, as needed, assist state and local governmental auditors.
  • Effectively and efficiently document, collaborate and persuade by using software and telecommunications tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, email, calendars, text, chat, webinars, seed-to-sale and other software, etc.
  • Perform the following physical tasks:a. Stand and walk for extended periods of time;b. Bend, squat and stoop, twist and bend the neck and waist and reach above and below shoulder height to grasp objects;c. Bend and lift loads of up to one hundred (100) lbs; andd. Use hands for grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation;

Additional Information:
