POSITION PURPOSE:

The production lead manages the daily tasks of the bakery, chocolate & packaging team. These tasks include setting up, supervising and breaking down each workspace for each work task, managing work space, supporting and motivating the team, maintaining relevant production and packaging data / records and providing leadership on safety and GMPs. You will report to the General Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Ensure the daily production & packaging schedules are up to date and executed. If unable to be met the schedule work with General Manager to make necessary adjustments based on priority and efficiency. Communicate changes with team.

-Coordinate set up of production and packaging lines for each task

-Ensure all product leaving packaging line meets quality standards

-Ensure production and packaging team members are on time, on track and on pace in tasks

-Record efficiency of tasks and enter data in spreadsheets / systems as required

-Ensure safety protocol and GMPs are adhered to and coach staff accordingly

-Provide leadership, direction and training to staff to continuously improve productivity, communication and morale

-Implement ideas to improve production and packaging processes and increase efficiency and share with team and GM

-Keep packaging inventory items organized and tidy

-Report potential inventory shortages to manager

-Raise staff issues to the general manager / HR as needed

SKILLS + EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

-2+ years supervisory experience in a production or warehouse setting

-Experienced and confident problem-solver

-Comfortable prioritizing and managing multi-functional tasks

-Can work effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints

-Excellent written and oral communication

-Completion of high school education, associate's degree preferred

-Must be 21+

-Must hold a valid marijuana worker permit

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

-Moving around the facility requires hours of standing and walking on hard surfaces

-Frequent stooping, bending, and balancing

-Extreme heat or cold-Lifting 75+ pounds

-The movement of pallets, packaging, and finished products require the ability to push/pull 500 lbs. Satisfactory hearing and vision is required, as is depth perception, color vision, and quick mental and muscular coordination

-Noise level which may, at times, require normal hearing protection in the form of ear plugs

-Hazardous materials, such as lubricating fluids, caustic and corrosive fluids, cleaning solvents, batteries, etc
