Production Chemist

We are currently looking for one or two full-time or part-time hourly Production Chemists to assist in producing cannabidiol from hemp in Delta, CO. This is a physician-owned startup. The pay scale is $15/hour. This is a scientific opportunity where only prior chemistry experience (not prior hemp experience) will be considered. Candidate must be knowledgeable in basic chemistry and be able to learn and follow written and oral protocols as we refine our hemp extraction methods. Prior experience with super- or subcritical extraction, rotary evaporation, molecular or short path distillation, or some chromatography is preferred. Chemical Engineers, analytical or other chemical laboratory experience including tissue culture will also be considered for the right candidate who is willing to learn and assist in production chemistry initially. Job requirements are moderately physical and include the use of large-scale production equipment, chemical distillation and analytical instrumentation; proper use of personal protective equipment, lab book and batch record-keeping; and safe handling of chemicals including gas cylinders and 50-gallon chemical drums. Applicant must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings as they will be responsible for their own and others physical and chemical safety. No exceptions. Any cannabis use including CBD may be grounds for immediate dismissal. Background check may also be required. Hours may vary and may include early hours, late hours and/or weekend hours. The ideal candidate would be a local resident. Candidate must have reliable transportation.
