Job Description:

Altus CO is seeking Production Associates to work in our production facility who have a working knowledge of commercial kitchens and food manufacturing. Candidates will be responsible for performing routine tasks such as setup and breakdown of production rooms, cleaning and organizing work stations, executing production work orders, prepping & weighing ingredients, batch production, packaging, facility upkeep, operating and maintaining production equipment, and washing dishes. Production Associates should be team-oriented, capable of following detailed directions, while demonstrating forethought and initiative to maintain a positive work environment andwilling to assist other team members as needed.

Candidates should have commercial kitchen experience as a production associate or similar food manufacturing role with hands on experience working with commercial kitchen equipment and tools. Ideal candidates must be able to organize and prioritize a diversified workload with competing demands, meet deadlines, handle sensitive information with confidentiality, and use independent judgment. Ideal candidates should also beable to function in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating a strong acumen for reading and managing formulas, recipes, and spreadsheets that involve numerous mathematical and scientific formulations.

Jobs will be performed in accordance with all applicable standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines (i.e. Marijuana Enforcement Division, OSHA, Denver Department of Health, Denver Fire Department , and Department of Agriculture standards) to promote a safe and compliant working environment.

Responsibilities:

• Setup and breakdown of production rooms
• Cleaning and organizing work stations
• Executing production work orders
• Operating and maintaining production equipment
• Prepping & weighing ingredients
• Batch production
• All facets of packaging
• Facility upkeep
• Dishwashing
• Receiving deliveries including forklift operations
• Warehouse inventory rotation and stocking
• Loading and unloading of raw materials into automated and semi-automated equipment
• Inspecting equipment parts and tools during cleaning process to identify worn or defective equipment
• Performs duties in an organized and efficient manner in order to meet required deadlines
• Prioritize responsibilities independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision
• Identify and address maintenance issues that might occur during the shift
• Maintain production records according to SOPs and company guidelines
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they are organized and easily accessible
• Maintain a clean working environment which includes, but is not limited to sanitizing work surfaces and equipment, taking out trash, and washing dishes, etc.
• Ensure all ingredients are properly labeled, tagged and stored
• Perform other production duties as assigned by the Production Manager
• Working knowledge of Cannabis extracts preferred, but not required

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or Technology, Culinary Degree, or 5 years of food related work experience
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and work occasional overtime(able to lift up to 60 pounds from floor to waist height)
• Cannabis MIPs experience a plus but not required
• Forklift operation license
• MED Occupational Support Badge required (will need prior to start date)
• Valid Colorado driver’s license
• Serve Safe certification
