Required Experience and Skills:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree with at least 8+ years of experience building strategy and executing content for brands and products
- Must have at least 2+ years in a Manager-titled role (*application will not be considered without this experience*)
- Interest and experience in cannabis culture and/or small businesses
- Strong writer and ability to present complex information simply for various audiences
- Multi-dimensional thinker
- Strong leaning to strategy and innovation
- Love for writing and communicating with various audiences
Preferred:
- Strong experience leading strategy with a cross-functional team
- Experience in software, SaaS, B2C and/or B2B brand management, marketing or promotional sales
Responsibilities:
Product positioning (10%)
- Working in collaboration with the product team and the Marketing Vice President the PMM is responsible for defining the compelling, customer value-based vision and voice for MJ Freeway’s products overall and for the primary (non-territory specific) customer segment. The PMM will work with the product team to bring creativity to this process - challenging thinking for the industry, the customer, the competition, and ensuring the product voice always delivers on customer needs and desires.
- The PMM drives a valuable, leading-edge product voice strategy and supporting content plan for our audiences, committed to ensuring that MJ Freeway is a cannabis thought leader not a follower.
- In collaboration with these teams, the PMM produces primary customer profile (enterprise) and product positioning statements for software and consulting products by primary customer
Strategic Content Planning (20%)
- The PMM develops a long-range strategic marketing and sales content plan that solidifies and expands MJ Freeway’s position as cannabis business thought leader. The PMM builds this plan with the goal of driving brand recognition, increase in brand perception scores, and lead increases.
- The PMM is also responsible for building and executing the short-range content plan. This plan takes into account the long-range content plan and goals, as well as meeting channel content goals as defined by the channel lead.
- The PMM is accountable to helping the Channel Lead meet channel post frequency goals.
- The PMM measures content plan effectiveness and adjusts accordingly based on defined measurement and goals. Adjustments would include changes in content type, subject matter, frequency, and content channel.
Content development (70%)
PMM creates content for MJ freeway audiences, including existing customers, potential customers, government officials, and cannabis business enthusiasts. The PMM develops content with input from product team and with our creative agencies. Content includes:
- White papers
- Industry briefs
- Social media posts
- Blog posts
- Webinars
- Event agendas and scripts
- Print and digital advertising
- And any emerging or paradigm-breaking content channels identified by PMM
