Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to build and run our firm-wide procurement function. The Manager acts as the lead in sourcing new supply and equipment vendors and in negotiating purchasing agreements. The procurement group is an essential function working closely with the business sourcing materials and equipment ensuring inventory and quality standards are met in the most cost effective manner.

Duties and responsibilities or (Essential Functions)

  • Oversee the development and execution of sourcing strategies across all product categories - new equipment, cultivation supplies and materials, product ingredients, packaging, warehouse and corporate supplies, indirect purchases and services

  • Partners with Operations, R&D, Engineering and IT to understand the business needs and requirements

  • Develop procurement activities to support key business objectives

  • Evaluate and select suppliers to meet business objectives including proper certifications and testing (COA, COC)

  • Negotiates with external vendors to secure advantageous terms

  • Build and manage a team of procurement specialists

  • Manage procurement agreements to ensure vendor compliance

  • Track and report on key metrics to reduce expenses and ensure on-time inventory

  • Works closely with Accounts Payable to ensure vendors are paid per contract terms

  • Works closely with Legal in finalizing purchasing agreements

Qualifications

  • 7 plus years experience in procurement and contract management; 3 plus years leading a procurement team
  • Experience building a procurement function highly desired
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology related field
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Proficient with Procurement/ERP systems; MS NAV experience a plus
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with project management; planning, organizing and managing resources
  • Some travel will be required
