Position: Process Documentation Specialist

Reports to: HR Director

Job Overview

Have a Heart is a cannabis retailer headquartered in Seattle, Washington. We are seeking an experienced process documentation specialist to ensure our regulatory and compliance functions scale appropriately as the company enters a period of aggressive expansion across the country. Considering the unique regulatory framework of our industry - where retail operations are heavily affected by laws and ordinances which vary drastically by jurisdiction - the individual we seek must be a self-starter capable of quick adaptation to ensure changes in the regulatory environment are converted into documents and processes for front-line employees and managers.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop materials to document operational end-to-end process flows
  • Evaluates existing materials and ensures their compliance and operational efficiency
  • Converts existing and new materials to match a variety of regulatory and operational environments.
  • Ensures all new rules rules, procedures and regulations are converted into process documentation for front line employees.
  • Maintains process-related metrics, and reports out on said metrics to the HR director.
  • Work closely with the HR Director, Training Director and Recruiting Director to bolster operational efficiency and ensure compliance
  • Maintain a keen interest in best processes and practices within the cannabis industry.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of proven work experience as a technical writer and/or a documentation specialist in a regulatory-heavy industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field preferred, but not required. Exceptional candidates without a Bachelor’s will be considered.
  • Familiarity with regulated industries desirable.
  • Familiarity with MS Office products.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to translate others’ input into documentation
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment and work independently.
  • Strong computer skills, such as the use of database and team communication software.
