General Summary:

We are seeking a Bank President with extensive banking experience to manage a team of people in a fast-paced, innovative financial institution in the cannabis space with oversight of high-value account portfolios.

Headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska you will not be required to relocate, however, there will be frequent travel. As our President, you’ll manage our global day-to-day operations with a primary focus on the U.S. and develop strategies to maximize both client satisfaction and our profitability. You have extensive banking experience and use that experience to lead and work closely with the CEO and the Compliance Officer. You'll develop relationships with our existing high-value clients and form relationships to onboard new clients. You’ll use a client-focused, positive attitude to create relationships that will last as our clients and portfolio continue to grow.

Will be responsible for and have access to confidential client information and must practice discretion at all times.

Identifies and defines opportunities for new growth and development. Develops strategic plans to achieve these objectives, in conjunction with corporate goals and plans. Establishes sales goals and strategies. Communicates these to associates in the respective markets and regularly assesses performance against set goals. Coordinates these activities with the Marketing Department. Monitors service policies and standards in order to ensure client satisfaction and loyalty. Sets and utilizes system controls to track assets, deposits and fee income. Measures the size and performance of the loan portfolio, and meets compliance and record keeping standards working closely with the Chief Compliance Officer and all administrative staff. Assesses performance and takes appropriate action to ensure all goals and standards are met.

Manages financial services with total assets up to $250MM dedicated to the legal cannabis accounts both in Alaska and throughout the US. Leads employees in the achieving our goals, mission, vision and values through effectively executing the Service Commitments. Accountable for managing resources in a manner that will enhance its visibility, positively contribute to the revenue growth and maximize profitability.

Risk Mitigation. You’ll proactively manage client needs and implement solutions to avoid delinquencies, overdrafts and account closures. You’ll review documents carefully to eliminate errors that could lead to loss and use your knowledge to secure all accounts in accordance with our policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

  • Professionally represent and promote our financial services in the communities in your market.
  • Active involvement with client relationships and assist with business development programs.
  • Monitor high-dollar account portfolios and work closely with Chief Compliance Officer
  • Contribute to profitability through fee income and cost control.
  • Keep CBO and CCO informed of trends, share outlook of performance and profitability.
  • Provide leadership and supervise/manage staff.
  • Counsel and train staff to ensure consistent results and proper administration of controls.
  • Serve as a resource to personnel to resolve questions or issues beyond their scope or capabilities.
  • Establish goals and objectives for assigned personnel and monitor productivity and performance on a continual basis.
  • Provide quality feedback and performance evaluations in order to develop and retain talent.
  • Contributes to strategic level discussions with the Executive Leadership team.
  • Provides practical, relevant ideas and perspectives on processes or process improvement.
  • Actively engages, demonstrates and fosters the Mission, Vision, and Values by executing the Service Commitments.
  • Leads the Branch’s strategic planning process, consistent with the financial services strategic plan, and directs the stretch budgeting process.
  • Manages and oversees deposit growth, overhead expense, and fee income.
  • Leads by example, communicates vision with a passion and maintains the focus on mission and purpose consistent with our model
  • Exhibits strong sales skills and personally leading the sales process, growing the portfolio, and actively engaging in the calling process for the development of business.
  • Increases market share, dollar volume and number of accounts, as well as the depth and breadth of profitable customer relationships on the commercial side of the branch and maintains a positive bank image.
  • Identifies and targets profitable market niches.
  • Directs and participates in the development of centers of influence for direct and referral sales.
  • Becomes a well-known and recognized community leader.
  • Encourages company-wide involvement of officers in key influential community organizations.
  • Develops and implements overall bank financial performance to ensure growth and profitability while maintaining safety, soundness and strict compliance.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages staff and works closely with CCO. Reports to CEO.

Prepares and conducts annual performance reviews. Completes and submits all forms associated with the review process to the department according to the review process deadline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs) Required:

The following KSAs are usually acquired through college education with an emphasis in business-related courses and 5 years related bank leadership experience:

  • Superior credit, analytical, communication and managerial skills.
  • Extensive and proven track record in bank administration, lending, and operating procedures.
  • Excellent ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Extensive familiarity with bank products, policies and procedures.
  • High degree of personal integrity and proven leadership.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ banking in leadership role
  • Must have Commercial and Industry experience
  • Demonstrate interpersonal, organization, time management, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Superior leadership, people management, training, communication, verbal/written skills and oral presentation skills
  • Must have exceptional customer service, sales, leadership and management skills. A working knowledge of bank operations, a consistently positive attitude and the ability to develop and achieve branch goals in accordance with parameters defined by management.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours

Education:
Bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, or related field from an accredited college or university, required. Relevant banking experience is not a substitute for the educational requirement.
