Post Harvest/Cure Specialist

The Giving Tree Wellness Center is a leading Arizona Licensed Medical Marijuana Dispensary. Our business consists of a Retail Operation, a Grow, Manufacturing and Wholesale. We are currently seeking an experienced Post Harvest/Cure Specialist to work Part time and then fill in Full Time for several months while our Post Harvest Specialist is out on maternity leave. Prior experience working in the cannabis industry in a Grow or Trim capacity is preferred. A background in agriculture is also preferred.

Personnel Duties and Responsibilities:

Carry out post-harvest procedures for drying and curing of legally compliant medical marijuana set forth by the management team.

The Post-Harvest Specialist must be efficient, highly organized, detail oriented, and possess knowledge of post-harvest procedures for drying and curing.

Adhere to state rules and regulations. Individual must be able to conform to policies and procedures set forth by the management team.

Ability to effectively communicate the status of various dry/cure cohorts with multiple departmental heads.

Keep dry and cure areas to the highest levels of cleanliness.

Monitor product moisture levels, perform tasks when required by pre-existing protocols; but also suggest improvements when applicable.

Record detailed notes on dry/cure processes and precise product weights.

Keep up to date inventory levels for multiple strains and maintain a culture of professionalism.

Oversee and coordinate post-harvest processes and procedures.

The Post-Harvest Specialist must wear a valid, visible and current Dispensary Agent card at all times.

Prohibit any person from consuming medical marijuana on the property.

Do not allow anyone without a valid and current Dispensary Agent card into the cultivation center. And non-Dispensary Agents must be accompanied by a Director or Cultivation Coordinator and must sign in with security.

Ensure that any building/equipment used by the cultivation, harvest, preparation, packaging, storage, infusion or sale of medical marijuana is maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.

Protect medical marijuana from contamination and clean all medical marijuana processing equipment daily.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must successfully pass an extensive background check.
• No excluded Felonies per A.R.S 36-2801.
• Strong work ethic; Ability to work weekends is required
• Able to take direction, work independently and efficiently to accomplish goals.
• Previous experience in the cannabis or agriculture industry is preferred
• Agricultural or horticultural degree with post-harvest emphasis is preferred.
• Up to date with contemporary drying and curing techniques.
• Must be able to successfully work in a team environment.
• Must be comfortable with weights and measures, strong attention to detail and follow up

Personnel Supervision: None

The Post-Harvest Specialist reports directly to the Cultivation Manager.

Adherence to Confidentiality Requirements

The Post-Harvest Specialist must read, be familiar with, and abide by all aspects of ARS 36 Chapter 28.1 (The Arizona Medical Marijuana Act) and AAC Title 9 Chapter 17 (The Department of Health Services Medical Marijuana Program Rules).
