Job Description:

LeafLine Labs is one of two Minnesota registered medical manufacturers. We focus on using controlled environment agriculture and hydroponic growing techniques to produce various strains of cannabis that is turned into extraction based medicine.

As a member of the pharmacy team, you will support the team in the dispensing of appropriate cannabis based medication to patients. This position is full-time, year-round, with possible evening and weekend shifts. Typical clinic hours are between 8am and 6pm, which is subject to change based on business need. We ask for flexibility due to a small clinical staff.

Minnesota law requires that any employee of LeafLine Labs be 21 and free of any disqualifying felony convictions. Prior to beginning employment with LeafLine Labs, every employee is legally required to submit to a background check conducted by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

Job Duties:

  • Provides detailed patient consultations: reviews allergies, current medication lists, past medical and social history, details of certifying diagnosis and symptoms, basic medical cannabis laws, common cannabis side effects, and patient’s comfort level with cannabis; counsels patients on drug therapies and interactions.
  • Appropriately determines product, dosage form and dose of medical cannabis and makes changes as needed in follow-up appointments.
  • Documents consultation notes and prescribed medical cannabis into internal electronic medical record system.
  • Prescribes cannabis-based medications; recognizing implications and considers alternatives when approaching complex issues.
  • Educates patients and/or caregivers on products, dose, administration and titration.
  • Develops and monitors patient care plans.
  • Works with dispensary staff verifying order preparation, labeling of medical cannabis products, verifying order entries and assisting with point of sale when needed.
  • Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals.
  • Develops industry pharmacological knowledge by participating in clinical programs, educational opportunities,and seeking out literature for advancing base knowledge.
  • Independently researches disease states and the use of medical cannabis.
  • Stays up to datewith political landscape regarding cannabis in and outside of Minnesota.
  • Complies with state laws as regulated by the Office of Medical Cannabis.

Essential Requirements:

  • Current Minnesota RN license in good standing.
  • 2 years of professional nursing experience preferred.
