This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact as Harvest launches our newest location in Reading and helps set the course for the medical marijuana industry in PA. The Pharmacist is responsible for interacting with and building positive relationships with patients by listening to their needs and concerns and making appropriate recommendations about medicine. The Pharmacist must have a drive to help people and solid knowledge of the medicine as well any many other products available. The Pharmacist must be able to explain the effects of various medicines and products and explain how each one can reduce a patient's symptoms for different ailments. The Pharmacist is expected to stay current and knowledgeable about the medicine offered by Harvest and in the industry. Part-time and full-time opportunities are available for this key role.
PHARMACIST DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
- Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans.
- Ensures compliance with Company and legal policies, procedures, and regulations for assigned areas.
- Maintains confidential information, documentation, and assigned records as required.
- Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity
- Models, enforces, and provides direction and guidance to Dispensary Associates on proper Patient service approaches and techniques to ensure Patient needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within Company guidelines and standards.
- Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions.
- Provides comprehensive patient care to customers.
- Provides medical marijuana pharmaceutical care to patients, including processing and accurately dispensing orders, counseling patients regarding health care and medical marijuana needs, maintaining confidential information, maintaining controlled medication and required documentation, and properly processing all patient certification transactions and recommendations per regulations.
PATIENT CARE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES *
- Maintains quality customer service by establishing and enforcing company standards and handling customer inquiries and complaints.
- Assist patients with choosing the right products according to their ailments.
- Greets all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner; processes transactions.
- Verifies patient's allotment and ensures they are eligible to make purchasing using the state system.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results and goals.
- Participates in ongoing education and professional development as needed.
- Adheres to all Pennsylvania Department of Health/ Office of Medical Marijuana regulations.
- Maintains a positive attitude that promotes team work.
- Participates in ongoing education and professional development opportunities, including all state mandated trainings and professional license continuing education requirements.
- Works collectively and respectfully with other team members.
- Additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS *
- Duly Licensed by the State Board to practice as a Pharmacist.
- Current license in the state of Pennsylvania.
- Experience in a retail or medical setting is required.
- Knowledge of medical cannabis and different cannabis products is required.
- Superior customer service skills and phone etiquette.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines
- Cash register experience with speed and accuracy.
- Experience frequently interacting with customers, fulfilling customer requests and addressing customer issues, questions, or suggestions.
- Ability to handle a busy atmosphere.
- Strong organizational skills.

- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
- Proficiency using MS Office applications.
- Good interpersonal skills and proven ability to positively influence people; must be capable of effectively interacting at all levels in the organization.

- Through extended periods, must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking throughout the work day. Must be capable of working in front of a computer for extended periods of time based on job duties listed above.
- At least 18 years of age and authorized to work in the US; proper employment documentation; reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Environmental Requirements and Exposure, depending on work location:
- Exposure to fertilizer, dusts, odors, high heat, low temperature, high and low humidity, high noise levels, vibrations, water, dry salts, allergens, pollen, dust, plant pathogens, other volatile organic compounds, and other environmental variables.
EDUCATION *
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree required for medical field of study and licensure.
- Minimum High School or G.E.D equivalent is required.
