TITLE: Product SpecialistTechnician (PST) – Part Time

REPORTS TO: Director of Pharmacy / KCR Executive Team

POSITION SUMMARY

Product Specialist Technicians are vital members of the Keystone Canna Remedies’ (KCR) team, and will serve as an important liaison between patients and KCR staff. These individuals will assist KCR’s Professional Staff in facilitating patient enrollment in the Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana program. They will help in obtaining and documenting patient information during initial and follow up consultations by KCR’s Professional team. PST will have knowledge of the overall dispensary inventory and help assist KCR’s Professional Staff in selecting appropriate products and ancillary equipment for patients based on their individual needs and disease states. These essential individuals will also help the dispensary team establish and maintain the highest level of security and compliance, assuring appropriate movement and reconciliation of products and currency. PST’s will assist the dispensary team with any and all additional tasks as deemed appropriate and within practical scope.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive:

  • Work under direct supervision of KCR’s Professional staff

Assist with timely and accurate dispensing of medical marijuana for registered patients and caregivers

  • Work with dispensary team members to provide best possible patient care and best possible patient experience
  • Schedule appointments, assist with refilling orders and creating new patient orders
  • Answer questions and educate patients/caregivers and healthcare professionals about MMJ
  • Assist patients/caregivers and KCR’s Professional staff identifying the MMJ and methods of consumption of MMJ that best fits their individual needs
  • Assist in maintaining inventory and accounting of all dispensary supplies
  • Assist in recordkeeping and reporting necessary for State compliance
  • Interact with staff on site as well as over the phone, collecting feedback on the goods and services provided
  • Participate in efforts to reform and improve procedures and workflows where appropriate
  • Assist in the training of new and current staff members as delegated
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Attend staff meetings and continuing education courses
  • Participate in outreach programs developed by Keystone Canna Remedies and industry partners as appropriate to help educate patients, caregivers, health care practitioners, community members, and interest groups on the current evidence and guidelines safe and effective utilization of medical marijuana
  • Practice all activities associated with education, dispensing and research of medical marijuana to the highest possible standards, and in accordance with rules and regulations established by the Pennsylvania Department of Health
  • Continue to enhance knowledge of medical marijuana, recommended treatment procedures and product

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Candidates will be at least 21 years of age. High School diploma/GED required; post-secondary degree most desirable.

Experience:

Prior experience working in a retail setting (especially in marijuana sales) desired.

Degrees, Licensure and/or Certification:

Post-secondary or collegiate degree favorable;

Pass background check, including check with FBI;

Candidate has never been found guilty of felony offense or concerning misdemeanor offense (i.e. theft, diversion of drugs).

Knowledge, Skills, Traits and Abilities:

Keystone Canna Remedies’ PST’s will be friendly, compassionate, able to work successfully with patients and caregivers and positively represent Keystone Canna Remedies as well as the medical marijuana industry. These individuals will have strong organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. They will be able to work independently as well as with a team. PST’s should have strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of pharmaceutical math is favorable. PST’s will serve as a consistent role model of professionalism, with high regard for ethical and moral behavior. They should also have baseline computer competency, including keyboarding and internet navigation.

Familiarity with applicable Pennsylvania Medical Marijuana rules / regulations is essential.

CPR/BLS training - current certification accepted, or training completed within 6 months of hire.

PA Medical Marijuana course completed within 30 days of hire.

Longitudinal education regarding advancements and policy in the medical cannabis industry to establish and maintain competency for best possible patient care.
