Function:
Obtain work schedule from supervisor, obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
-Confer with shift operators, (previous / next) check work orders for product to be run and enter the appropriate data in the computer.
-Assign production work and provide guidance and support to line operators.
-Monitor packaging lines and procedures, complete quality and metal detector checks and assist and relieve operators as needed.
-Expedite production, inform Supervisor of daily progress and provide reports (downtime, percentage, efficiency, loss) as required.
-Troubleshoot production problems, make minor repairs and adjustments and assist maintenance with other repairs.
-Obtain and transport materials / supplies to and from the line operators as needed.
-Complete production paperwork and downtime reports as required, provide training and orientation for new employees.
-Assist with changeovers, run-outs, line clearance, shutdown, caustic clean-up and set-ups as required.
-At end of shift, secure all equipment, perform general housekeeping duties and complete all required paperwork
Requirements:
-Must have earned a High School diploma or proof of GED.

-Must have food processing experience.
-Have at least 2 years of experience in packaging (Warehouse is not the same)
-Supervisory experience is a nice to have
-Must have basic computer skills and basic math skills.
-Must complete “Lock-out / Tag-out” awareness training.
-Must know MSDS information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work.
