Job Description:

JOB OVERVIEW

  • Profitability: Monitor and manage certain expenses to meet budgets and operating margin targets.
  • Performance: Innovate and manage procedures to simplify our complex transactional environment and improve efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Compliance: Ensure that we observe all regulations and create a safe and controlled guest and employee experience.
  • Security: Develop constantly-improving systems that protect guests, employees, and assets.
  • Oversight: Oversee certain contracts and vendor activities and assure management that services rendered are as agreed and delivering value to the business.*
  • Expansion: Assist executives and contractors in the company’s expansion by managing new projects and providing a smooth opening and continuing operation of each new location.*

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regular facility inspections to assure management that each property is compliant, safe, secure and in the highest order of appearance. Sanction repairs or maintenance as required and negotiate and review contracts prior presentation to management.
  • Oversee IT systems and eliminate digital threats, confirm the secure backup of data and compliance with laws.
  • Collaborate with store and inventory managers if employee theft is suspected or detected, reporting exposure to executives and helping implement strategies to eliminate loss.
  • Approve invoices for activities, contracts, and purchases under your control.
  • Develop key performance indicators for certain operating attributes of the company and report them monthly to senior management.
  • Become expert in the company’s POS and inventory systems and utilize them as required and make sure that their integrity and accuracy are constant and uninterrupted.
  • Remain highly educated in retail and corporate innovations that could improve the efficiency of the company and make recommendations with ROI projections for new systems and programs.
  • Develop comprehensive, cost-justified and strategically-aligned solutions to overcome operational issues that the company must address.
  • Assist executives in developing long-range plans, strategies, and programs to advance the company’s mission.
  • Manage off-site storage facilities and coordinate the delivery of material required for retail operations in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Manage new projects and keep detailed records, notes, and files of every aspect of development for corporate archives.
  • Become and remain educated on all state and municipal regulations at each location and assure management that the company is compliant with every obligation.
  • Coordinate with HR and retail managers to keep employees compliant, trained and effective in loss prevention and safety practices.
  • Immediately report any actual or suspected compliance violation, policy violation, theft, misappropriation, questionable activity or other unusual observation to senior management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of senior operations management experience in hospitality, lodging, retail or a customer-facing and service-based industry
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative management style
  • Strong background in finance and accounting
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in managing groups, projects, and initiatives
  • Ability to quickly adapt to unpredictable changes in business activity and stability
  • Expert-level competency in multiple small business software systems, Microsoft and Google suites of products
  • Experience in a regulated industry or compliance environment
  • Advanced command of business language, contracts, negotiation practices and corporate practices
  • Demonstrated experience in providing solutions to complex operational challenges in a fast-track growth company and industry
  • Budget development and oversight experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Ability to challenge and debate issues of importance to the organization
  • Ability to look at situations from several points of view
  • Persuasive with details and facts
  • Delegate responsibilities effectively
