The Role:

Realize is seeking a capable and passionate, multi-faceted individual to serve as Office Manager. Be part of the founding team and involved with development and set-up of our offices, systems and bringing on new team members. Reporting to the CEO, the Office Manager is an enthusiastic, upbeat go-getter who enjoys a rapid paced start-up environment, likes getting things done on a daily basis and understands the need for flexibility.

Must have experience in small businesses of 10 to 25 people in an office environment, have a hands-on mindset and an ability to manage multiple, simultaneous activities. The ideal candidate will be an extrovert and excellent communicator, well-organized and highly skilled in project management with an ability to manage multiple, simultaneous activities.

This position is based out of Chicago and includes travel, initially primarily to Colorado. Requires an obsessive startup mentality and work ethic, with the internal drive to achieve breakthrough results. A personal interest and familiarity with cannabis is essential.

Our Company:

Realize develops and commercializes hemp-extract based CBD-rich consumer products in a variety of formats, including capsules, tinctures, lotions, vape pens and edibles. We curate appropriately for distinct channels of the market with our Script, Harmonize and SkinnyGrass brands. We are currently organizing our production and operations in Colorado, with our Chicago headquarters serving the functions of management, administration and sales & marketing.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the daily operations and activities of the company
  • Manage accounting, banking, bookkeeping and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Manage all aspects of the company’s facilities in Illinois and Colorado
  • Manage HR including payroll, employment taxes and benefits management
  • Identify, hire and onboard key personnel
  • Manage IT and support the team’s hardware needs
  • Develop and screen business partners, define and formalize relationships
  • Organize and track project management details for various programs
  • Support CEO in ongoing fundraising activities
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • BS degree
  • Proven experience to get-things-done in a similar role
  • Demonstrable competency in execution and project management with relevance to this position
  • Several years in start-up companies that experienced high growth

Bonus points:

  • Consumer products background, regulated CPG business (i.e.., dietary supplements, tobacco, alcohol, or related sector) involved with the development, production, sales and distribution of consumer goods.
  • Operations: logistics, customer service, order fulfillment, accounting and financial reporting.
  • Regulatory: Familiarity with FDA and FTC regulations relating to dietary supplements, OTC and prescription drugs. Cannabis regulation familiarity helpful.
  • Data and systems and best practices in data gathering and utilization.
