Your opportunity at a glance
The LCB is announcing an opportunity for an Office Assistant 3 (Front Desk) position in the Licensing and Regulation Division at the headquarters building in Olympia, WA. This position supports the mission of the LCB and Licensing Division's responsibilities by independently performing various clerical duties using complex problem-solving skills under general supervision. This position is responsible for covering the LCB headquarters front desk reception area to include greeting walk-in customers, answering and directing phone calls and assisting the Customer Service Unit. The successful candidate will update reports, develop meeting materials for in house meetings, prepare correspondence and track progress of legal files, maintain manuals and electronic recordkeeping/filing systems and data base files, and assists with tasks, as needed, to aid the workload of Division staff. Position may perform specialized complex word processing tasks in a word processing unit or complex rapid data inquiry and/or entry functions. Accurate, timely, and reliable performance of tasks by the incumbent is critical for the efficiency of the division.

Duties
Greets guests
Assess the various needs and purposes of the guests and direct them to the proper resources in order to address their needs
Answer inquiries about the agency
Answer phone and direct all calls appropriately
Take and deliver messages
Accept checks at the front counter
Keep a log of incoming checks
Uses spreadsheet and data base software to maintain records
Accept and call agency departments for incoming supplies and equipment
Perform data entry
Various duties including processing incoming licensing documents received electronically and through the mail for work flow and record maintenance
Receive certified letters and protest letters
Participate in special projects, lean activities or any other duties assigned to meet the mission of the agency
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High School Graduation Diploma or equivalent
Two years of clerical experience

RCW 69.50.351, no member of the state liquor and cannabis board and no employee of the state liquor and cannabis board shall have any interest, directly or indirectly, in the producing, processing, or sale of marijuana, useable marijuana, or marijuana-infused products, or derive any profit or remuneration from the sale of marijuana, useable marijuana, or marijuana-infused products other than the salary or wages payable to him or her in respect of his or her office or position, and shall receive no gratuity from any person in connection with the business.

As a condition of employment, the candidate accepting this position will be required to comply with the Union Security clause contained in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the State of Washington and the union. This means that, as a condition of employment the candidate must either join the union and pay union dues, or pay the union a representational or other fee within 30 days of the date you are put into pay status.
