Mobile Delivery Consultant - Alternative Patient Care - San Diego, CA

DELIVERY DRIVER – RETAIL

Alternative Patient Care (APC) is a non-profit, mutual benefit corporation that specializes in providing safe access to medical cannabis for the patients of San Diego County. APC is a legally operating collective under California Proposition 215, California HSC 11362.5, and Senate Bill 420. We are a HIPAA compliant delivery service that specializes in exemplary patient care and professionalism. Our core company focus revolves around setting higher standards in the cannabis industry, and we pride ourselves on maintaining our outstanding reputation and safe working environment. Turning the corner quickly on our fourth year of operations, APC is looking to expand our support-staff with extremely qualified and motivated individuals for the delivery department. This is a commission-based role for career-driven professionals seeking growth opportunity within a rising company. APC wants a delivery driver who is energized, motivated, and a high-achiever; we are looking for someone who never stops improving! We are a family-oriented, transparent company that will require you to pitch-in at every level of the business. "That's not my job" is considered bad language in our office, as we consider every member to be an integral part of our growing team! APC is a high-volume, fast-paced work environment and we need someone who can easily multi-task, works well under pressure, and who can effectively manage and lead subordinate staff. We expect high performing individuals, and pay commission in line with those expectations.

Delivery drivers are responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Delivering the proper medication to the correct patients under HIPAA/CMIA standards
  • Offering individualized medicinal recommendations to patients in need while in the field
  • Navigating the San Diego landscape in a timely and effective manner in order to meet the time requirements for patient delivery windows
  • Maintaining their appearance on both a personal and vehicular level to the utmost degree
  • Contacting hundreds of patients and interacting with them on a weekly basis
  • Administrative paperwork and compliance modules

Qualifications:

  • General knowledge of San Diego county, or willingness to learn quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical, logistical, problem-solving, and project management skills with the ability to analyze data and drive fast, measurable results
  • Strong personal skills, including face-to-face and presentation style skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communicative skills with an emphasis on proper grammar and spelling usage, in addition to excellent basic-mathematic skills, specifically percentages.
  • Ability to interact cooperatively and work as a team towards a common goal managing diverse personality types in a fast-paced, work setting
  • Hard working, passionate, and most importantly, trustworthy character
  • Basic knowledge of cannabis increments and some understanding of the general industry
  • Ability to interpret all policies and procedures to resolve patient and employee issues
  • Excellent time management skills; punctual
  • Ability to take initiative and create meaningful impact within a small business
  • Interest in learning all aspects of dispensary operations

Requirements:

  • Past experience in retail, hospitality or other customer-facing industry
  • Demonstrable skills in leadership, team building, mentorship and delegation
  • Working, reliable vehicle (subject to our safety inspection) with valid insurance and a driver's license (preferably from CA, but not required)
  • Must submit to criminal background check (at our cost) and provide excellent local (San Diego area) references
  • Valid CA medical cannabis recommendation (can be obtained prior to employment)
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes that weigh up to 30 lbs
  • Availability and willingness to work longer hours, weekends, and some holidays
  • Candidates with a fundamental knowledge of cannabis, past delivery drivers, an education directly in the cannabis field, and/or experience working at top retail/hospitality brands (previous cannabis collectives, Whole Foods, Peet's Coffee & tea, Starbucks, Philz, Trader Joe's, Nordstrom's, GAP, Banana Republic, REI) will receive extended consideration
  • 4-Year college degree not required; High School Diploma or GED required.

Commission pay is a set standard, and benefits later include employee discounts (after required waiting period), guaranteed two-weeks unpaid vacation, and three days unpaid sick time leave per year, drivers' lounge amenities, and continental style, daily sustenance.
