Job Description:

As a fully independent ISO/IEC 17025 accredited analytical laboratory located in Boulder, we bring state-of-the-art scientific expertise and technology to help our clients produce safe, pure, and effective cannabis products. We are a State licensed and certified business.

Day shift (9-5:30) Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday depending on Company needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of lab reagents, growth media, aliquots of said reagents and media, autoclave and lab clean-up duties.
  • Use of aseptic technique and work in a sterile environment.
  • Preparing samples for analysis which may include labelling, weighing, recording, pipetting, plating samples, and microbial enumeration.
  • Working on special projects as assigned.
  • Monitor and record lab equipment metrics to ensure they are within acceptable quality control limits.
  • Read, calculate and record data to produce reports for clients.
  • Maintain accurate quality control documentation of analytical procedures.
  • Crosstrain and assist other departmental personnel with analytical procedures.
  • Identify and document departures from set quality systems or test procedures.
  • More experienced candidates would be expected to perform qPCR analyses and/or assign work flow to colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • A four-year bachelor’s degree in the life sciences (Molecular Biology or Microbiology preferred) with 1 to 5 years full-time experience in laboratory testing.
  • Candidate must be detail-oriented, have strong analytical skills and they ought to have the ability to work independently.
  • Candidate must have dexterity necessary to perform laboratory tasks such as pipetting, long periods of standing or sitting may be required depending on the task.
  • Experience performing high-throughput molecular and microbial assays such as qPCR and microbe plating a plus.
  • Good interpersonal and planning skills desirable.
  • Must have strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills, including competency in Microsoft office computer applications.
  • Experience in high-throughput labs a strong plus
  • Must pass an extensive background security check with no felony convictions and must be able to obtain a Colorado Department of Revenue – Marijuana Enforcement Division support license prior to or at the time of hire

Salary: $18.00 to $22.00 /year
