Cultivation Specialist
Summary:
An opportunity to be involved on the ground floor of the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program with Ancient Roots. Ancient Roots is a Level II Medical Marijuana Cultivation and Processing facility located in Wilmington, OH. Job opening fall 2018. Candidate will be responsible for the care of medical marijuana plants during the immature, vegetative, flowering and harvesting stages. Includes pruning, up planting, watering, feeding and inspecting plants as well as labeling and tracking immature plants through the seed to sale tracking program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to company mission statement and core values while maintaining high ethical standards and professionalism by following all cultivation practices as directed by the Cultivation Manager
- Must comply with all state regulations and guidelines set forth by the Ohio Medical Marijuana Control Program
- Assist in all phases of the plant grow cycle
- Prune and de-fan plants
- Accurately weigh and record all wet and dry plant material
- Wash and sanitize all equipment
- Inspect all equipment and tools to ensure they are clean and free of debris and in good working order
- Break down and set up plant rooms
- Trimming and packaging of finished product
- Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness in-order to uphold the company’s standard for quality
- Work efficiently and strive to increase productivity
- Maintain organization and sanitization of the facility throughout the day
- All other job duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Basic strain and plant structure knowledge a plus
- Ability to communicate clearly and accurately
- High school diploma or some college
- 1-3 years of experience in commercial agriculture, landscaping, or commercial marijuana cultivation
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- Be a team player with a positive attitude
- Adapt to changes and help in different roles if needed
- Attention to detail and accuracy in logging all information pertinent to state regulations and inventory tracking systems
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and moving for 2-3 hours at a time; sitting for prolonged periods, some bending
- May require lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally
- May require the use of stepladders
- May require driving for long periods
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise level similar to a typical busy office and warehouse environment
- Hours could include evening, holiday and weekend rotations as needed.
