Job Description
- Manages, directs and through startup initially provides all New York extraction, QA, and formulation to consistently produce high-quality concentrates in accordance with NY State regulations
- Lab set up design and, procurement: Floor Plan Layout and Revision, Power requirement loading and planning, Extraction Equipment ordering and power requirement planning collaborations with Post Processing equipment selection, ordering, and power requirement planning.
- Masters various techniques for cannabis extraction and infusion
- Expertise in CO2 and Ethanol extraction methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
- Designs product mix in conjunction with other business functions as it relates to extractable material
- Ensures compliance with State regulations and testing requirements; develops SOPs to ensure safety, quality, and consistent processes
- Maintains cleanliness, safety and efficiency of the production area
- Provides consistent oversight of extraction procedures, lab budgets, ensuring standardized requirements and accuracy (as mandated by New York State)
- Works with local, State-approved laboratory to send samples for regular testing of extracted product and document all results for compliance with State regulations
- Assist with extraction personnel staffing placement
- Develop extraction department organizational chart, work flow, and step by step process and procedure for training module
- Monitor and evaluate Good Manufacturing Procedures, deviations and follow-up
- Prepares inventory reports to ensure products are available, on point and in demand
- Maintains inventory of supplies, materials, equipment, including material safety data sheets for all chemicals and products
- Ensures accurate weighing and inventory; all products are packaged, counted, sorted, and labeled accurately
- Develop and/or support quality and product safety training programs
- Design product specifications for all current and future fresh and finished products.
- Calibrate and audit all quality systems, documentation, results and testing to maintain compliance and consistency with all State and/or Federal requirements.
- Provide excellent service to all internal and external customers
- Ability to maintain professional conduct, demeanor and approach at all times
- Proactively monitor industry trends and new developments to develop programs, policy and procedure for compliance with product safety, quality and analytics
- Must be a team player with ability to work and lead in a face paced environment with multi-functional groups.

Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related scientific field (Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or similar)
- At least 2 years working with CO2 and Ethanol Cannabis extraction in a production environment
- At least 1 year in a GMP-certified facility
- Minimum 3 years management experience
- Experience training and mentoring laboratory technicians and scientists with techniques for analysis and good laboratory practices
