Florida for Care and United for Care worked to pass Florida’s Amendment 2 allowing medical marijuana. That resulted in Senate Bill 8-A and subsequent implementation, much of which has still yet to occur. Florida for Care is the political and Policy arm of this organization that works to continually push for better policies as well as on educating doctors, patients, elected officials, and others. We are also suing the state for smokable flower to be allowed for patients.
In this role you would be working remotely as well as out of the Miami Beach office 2 days per week. You may attend local events in Miami or broward in place of this on behalf of Ffc. Total hours per week would be 20 or so except for maybe 1-2 days per month where you may be asked to travel in state to attend an event. If so you will be given notice and normal preapproved expenses would be paid.
There will be a $200 stipend per week for now, it’s possible after 3 months this could become a more full time position but this is not guaranteed. You will meet with many of the companies entering the industry however and learn a lot about the lawmaking process.
The ideal candidate has been following the Florida laws and would know generally what is happening, doesn’t mind speaking to people at events, or making a few calls. This person will be able to organize information into Microsoft excel or google sheets.
