Sweet Cannabis is seeking several Material Handlers for their Portland, Oregon facility. Reporting to the Operations and Supply Chain Managers, the Material Handlers are responsible for maintaining production and distribution of products through handling, moving, loading and unloading products and materials throughout the facility.

Job Description:

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Work with production team to follow work orders and complete daily production sheets, ensuring targets and production demands are met;
  • Tag and label products with identifying information, place materials and supplies in stock and record location of inventory; ensure all bulk material and finished goods are accounted for;
  • Maintain all equipment, machinery, systems and tools required for material handling and production;
  • Assemble various products and materials following strict Standard Operating Procedures and ensuring quality procedures are met;
  • Follow and document sanitation, room and equipment maintenance schedules;
  • Load, unload, sort and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment;
  • Assist Production Manager in replenishment, letdowns, shipping and receiving where required;
  • Perform activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking of products and materials;
  • Inspect material handling equipment, structures, or materials to identify problems or defects; report non-conformities to management;
  • May operate, navigate, or drive mechanized material handling equipment
  • Comply with Health and Safety, Quality Assurance and any Standard Operating Procedures set forth;
  • Maintain storage areas and carry out general duties as required
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with cannabis industry and culture, policies and state regulations;
  • Working knowledge of inventory tracking forms and systems;
  • Understanding of Standard Operating Procedures, inventory systems and processes and order fulfillment functions.

Skills:

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills;
  • Meticulous attention to detail with an eye for quality and error;
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Abilities:

  • Self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Strong physical ability to move moderately heavy material and packages, up to 50 lbs.;
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity and honest;
  • Ability to adhere to safety protocols when operating assigned equipment and machinery.

Other Qualifications and Experience:

  • Must be minimum of 21 years of age;
  • Completion of High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with product creation, labelling, packaging, or order fulfillment;
  • Must be willing to work shiftwork;
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an OLCC card;
  • Experience in the cannabis industry considered an asset.
