Summary:

One of the largest and most respected cannabis companies in the legal marijuana industry seeks a Compliance professional to join their team to help set the standard for cannabis compliance.

This position is primarily responsible for reviewing and approving marketing materials and communications. The Compliance associate will also assist with providing regulatory compliance support and guidance to the marketing team. The ideal candidate would be interested in becoming a subject matter expert, contributing at a high level to the overall success of the team and building a long-term career.

Here is what you will do:

• Learn, understand and stay up-to-date with state and local marketing related cannabis regulations for applicable jurisdictions
• Seek to understand not only the regulations but also the intent of all regulatory requirements
• Responsible for the review and pre-approval of all marketing materials
• Interact with local and state regulatory bodies when necessary, including submission of marketing materials
• Develop a tracking system for all reviewed materials with KPIs in mind
• Develop senior management reporting framework
• Establish a positive working relationship and clear communication flow with supported departments
• Create standard operating procedures to support ongoing compliance

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communication or Marketing

3+ years of regulatory marketing material review in, finance, pharma, alcohol or other highly regulated industries

Good organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to draft succinct memos, business correspondences, and procedures

Proven strong verbal and written communication skills

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:

Cannabis regulation and/or product knowledge is a plus

Marketing material review for compliance with IA Act of 1940 is a plus

Marketing material review for a public company is a plus
