Marketing Manager
This position requires an individual who can drive statewide marketing campaigns, provide a strategic marketing approach, and report on marketing efforts and results.
The Marketing Manager fills a critical role in the execution of tactical marketing for our operations for the brand in California. The Marketing Manager is responsible for directly supporting day-to-day marketing, advertising, and public relations functions of the business. Daily duties include but are not limited to marketing POW products and brand by developing and implementing digital and social media marketing and advertising campaigns; track sales data; assist in developing promotions; plan meetings and trade shows; maintaining databases and websites; prepare reports and email; maintain marketing automation platform. This position reports directly to the COO.
Key Responsibilities:
· Conceptualize and implement marketing and advert
· Using campaigns relevant to the California market. Assemble and analyze sales forecasts; prepare marketing and advertising strategies, plans, and objectives
· Plan and execute promotional offerings and campaigns
· Execute the social media updates for the company, ensure the content and messaging aligns with the company’s strategy and vision for the brand
· Engage with customers and provide world class customer service through social media channels; plan and deliver community management strategies through social media
· Report social media mentions internally; provide useful feedback to product and marketing teams
· Maintain industry-specific directory listings and respond to online reviews and inquiries via email and social media channels
· Maintain and update website content; liaise with vendors and manage projects and deliverables to completion
· Plan and develop internal and external newsletter content; draft and schedule email blasts to stakeholders on an ongoing basis
· Create and edit marketing content and copy; maintain and update marketing automation platform and content
· Keep promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with graphic design team; inventorying stock; placing orders; verify receipt
· Support executive team by analyzing and summarizing sales data, market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information; relay customer services requests
· Research competitive products by identifying and evaluating product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintain research databases
· Plan meetings and trade shows: identity, assemble, and coordinate requirements; establish contacts; develop schedules and assignments; manage mailing lists
· Monitor budgets by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; read trade publications
· Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for, and accomplish new and different requests; explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
· Follow POW Safety Code of Conduct
· Follow POW Emergency Action Plan in the event of an emergency
· Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Three years of direct marketing experience
· Previous experience supervising and managing a team
· Experience in the medical cannabis industry preferred, but not required
· High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
· Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time and occasionally be available to attend events on nights and weekends.
· Experience with B2C marketing, social media, digital marketing, marketing automation tools, market segmentation, marketing research
· Experience with project coordination, project management, reporting research results, process improvement, initiative, planning, financial skills
· Exceptional customer service skills, ability to understand the customer
· Articulate, professional communication, excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and active listening skills
· Demonstrated ability to multi-task for extended periods of time
· Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
· Knowledge of essential computer functions (PC platform, POS system)
· Strong attention to detail and ability to focus
· Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
· Ability to adapt and change job tasks according to business demands
· Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to work accurately, quickly and efficiently and to learn and execute protocols rapidly
· Ability to speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace; bilingual skills a plus
· Ability to work scheduled shifts and arrive at work on time; be punctual and present
· Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
