As a successful addition to our team, the Marketing Director will be responsible for providing guidance to our marketing department by evaluating and developing marketing strategies, planning and coordinating marketing efforts, communicating the marketing plans to those involved, and building awareness and position for our company’s brands. The Marketing Director will also work closely with the company’s sales department to develop strategies for success.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop an all-encompassing marketing strategy across brands, jurisdictions, and platforms including social media, advertising, websites, events, packaging and products to drive sales and a consistent brand image
- Creates KPIs to monitor the success of marketing campaigns and to present results of campaigns to management
- Develop and monitors the cost of the marketing budget for all initiatives across multiple seasons
- Works closely with the Production, Sales and Warehousing team to develop and launch new products successfully in the market
- Creates innovative ideas and executes on bringing the ideas to market to bring consumer awareness and sales to multiple brands
- Continuously be aware of industry trends through market research to ensure the brand is relevant and positioned appropriately in the market
- Create and lead a content strategy for retail and wholesale through social media, website and ad media and events.
- Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional material, social media, and events.
- Ensure the marketing strategy and objectives are implemented and properly executed by the marketing team.
Other Responsibilities
- Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
- Work closely with Company’s sales team; enabling the team to meet their objects by providing appropriate tools and materials
- Organizing Company conferences, trade shows, major events, and vendor days.
- Manage social media presence and direct programs to heighten presence, including maintaining and updating websites as needed.
- Spearhead efforts to increase SEO visibility and provide online analytics review for all applicable platforms.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
- Manage agency providers, consultants, freelancers and other suppliers, including contract negotiation and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in marketing field.
- Confident, driven and dynamic leader.
- Proven experience as a leader in marketing and managing a team.
- Effective time management skills.
- Strong copywriting skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets.
- Professional and proactive work ethic.
- High competence in project and stakeholder management.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
- Well versed in website creating and content management, including SEO optimization.
- Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media, content, and e-commerce.
- Experience working with third-party creative agencies.
- Cannabis industry and cannabis compliance knowledge, a plus.
- Packaging knowledge and design knowledge, a plus.
