Position Summary

The marketing/customer relations team is responsible for brand marketing, advertising and promotional activities within the organization and takes steps to measure, enhance, and enrich the position and image of the company.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing or other related field;
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in marketing role; experience managing outside vendors and agencies;
  • Graphic design experience with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Event management experience preferred;
  • Related social media development and management experience preferred;
  • Strong copy writing and written communication skills, as well as oral communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and highly detail-oriented;
  • Effective problem-solving skills and calm under pressure; comfortable communicating with external parties, such as media;
  • Works well in a fast-paced, changing environment, and is both flexible and effective as company needs change and responsibilities evolve;
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator;
  • Proficient to advanced knowledge of google suite of programs including docs, sheets, forms;
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with fellow employees and set a good example of a team player for others;
  • Enthusiasm for the cannabis industry and selling cannabis-related products.

Core Job Duties

  • Develop and maintain social media and website content;
  • Manage social media channels including Twitter, youtube, snapchat, instagram, facebook; creates reports on social media growth and engagement;
  • Manage website;
  • Maintain content of web portals such as product ordering site, WeedMaps, leafly, etc.;
  • Design and develops blog posts according to a content release schedule;
  • Maintains website by updating events calendar, product information, copy, etc.
  • Writes copy for a variety of marketing projects, working closely with the marketing manager to ensure that messages are on-brand and consistent with marketing strategies.
  • Projects include website copy, press releases, social content, email campaigns, speaking materials, sell sheets, educational campaigns, marketing collateral, blog posts, event communications, etc.;
  • Graphic design and development of associated marketing materials as outlined above.
  • Develop and implement marketing and promotional campaigns by as related to both sales initiatives (like product promotions) and brand initiatives (like customer loyalty programs).
  • Manage third party vendors and external resources for marketing-related campaigns, projects, and initiatives.
  • Manage and design promotional materials and merchandise.
  • Work closely with the budtenders and floor managers to align marketing and sales initiatives and implement strategies.
  • Coordinates and manages events including event concepting, event logistics and timeline management, speaker communications, event promotions, event registration, attendee communications, vendor management, sponsorship negotiation, on-site coordination, pre- and post-evaluations, and collaboration with the media team.
  • Promote products and services through public relations initiatives and cultural sponsorships; coordinates communication with external PR resources and sponsorship contacts.
  • Work with marketing manager and business units to determine campaign and event budgets; monitors budgets for marketing campaigns and events by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Plan and coordinates meetings; develops and tracks schedules and assignments in collaboration with marketing manager and relevant teams;
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments and grow within the organization;
  • Research competitive landscape, media coverage and industry trends for all relevant regions; identifies and evaluates competitive company and product characteristics, market share, pricing, and advertising; maintains research databases.
  • Customer relation duties.
  • Greet customers enthusiastically; make every individual feel welcome, at home, and comfortable;
  • Learn new customers names; make notes about new customers that will aid in future recognition. Even if the customer is a tourist;
  • Treat new customers like they are family, they are our community and they are loyal to us because they love us. It is the duty of the marketing/customer relations team to make these individuals love us and feel drawn to our doors;
  • Make friends with the customer;
  • Read customers and gauge their level of interest in direct contact and communication. Each person is unique in their level of service; it is the job of the Marketing/Customer Relations team to understand and treat people how they want to be treated. No conversation will ever be scripted, it is about how they feel;
  • Walk customers through the process of purchasing marijuana at the COMPANY. Introduce the budtender who is will assits them. When they are done purchasing walk them out. Make a ‘memorable moment’ for them;
  • Smile, shake hands, hug (when appropriate). Customers will remember your name well after they have left the dispensary or you are not doing your job.

Job Scope

Operates with direct supervision from general manager. Follows established policies and procedures, contributes to the development of new concepts, policies and procedures as necessary to perform job duties and tasks.
