Job Summary

The Hybrid Creative a wholly owned subsidiary of Kush Bottles is looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, and effective Marketing & Communications Manager to help our dynamic design, web and marketing agency grow to the next level. The ideal candidate is a great writer, passionate about design and technology, excited about working with clients, savvy with social media marketing, a creative and innovative thinker and thrives in fast paced environments.

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:


  • Develop and manage marketing plans and budgets
  • Strategize and implement strong promotional messaging
  • Manage all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram Twitter, Blog, etc) and integrate with overall communications strategy
  • Conceptualize and write articles, case studies and blog posts that support overall company goals
  • Represent our company at trade show events and business networking mixers
  • Certify the Hybrid Creative via private and public programs
  • Enter designs into competitions to grow award-winning status
  • Support promotional strategies for generating leads and driving traffic to our company
  • Strategize, create and execute meaningful email campaigns
    • Collaborate with graphic designers and web developers in creating communications material and web content
    • Plan and execute copy for case studies and video scripts for print and online applications
    • Create advertising campaigns that convert into measurable results
  • Write press releases for major news stories occurring in the company and get them distributed via industry media outlets
  • Maintain CRM contact database and implement content marketing campaigns with HubSpot
  • Maintain our marketing activities calendar & budget
  • Support copywriting needs for the agency and occasionally some of our top clients
  • Host Meetups, open houses, panel discussions and other events at the agency
  • Support SEO, PPC and Google AdWords campaigns
  • Work directly with the sales team to provide effective lead funnels and brand initiatives
  • Track and analyze all marketing efforts for measurable success
  • Develop sales forecasting and product branding plans
  • Establish and grow a target market share
  • Conduct customer, brand and product research initiatives
  • Offer expert advice to develop innovative advertising, public relations, social media and events
  • Negotiate with media partners to guarantee advantageous contracts

Qualifications Guidelines


Education/training/experience:

  • 5-10 years' experience
  • A fundamental understanding of the emerging cannabis industry is a must.
  • This position requires someone with excellent English language skills and an aptitude for computers and technology.
  • Experience in the graphics, marketing, print and web industries is a huge plus and will weigh strongly in our decision.
  • We are looking for someone who is passionate and excited about our industry and has the qualities necessary to shine in this position.
  • We're a Mac house. You should be familiar with basic software such as OS X, Pages, Excel/Numbers, HubSpot CRM software and have a passion for the web experience.

Knowledge of:

  • Ability to work from our Santa Rosa office 5 days a week (this is an in-house position)
  • Direct marketing experience with a focus on client service
  • Experience developing marketing strategies / plans
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills
  • Basic eye for, and experience in, professional graphic design
  • Ability to learn new marketing concepts/tactics quickly
  • Knowledge and experience, including best practices in inbound marketing, lead generation
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing deadlines
  • CRM lead management system experience a plus, especially HubSpot
  • Analytical and strategic marketing skills
  • The ability to prioritize and strategize based on company's goals
  • A desire to think creatively, solve problems and use professional judgment
  • Exemplary written and oral presentation and a talent for presenting
  • Very strong customer service orientation
