Northeastern Herbal Treatment Initiative is in the planning phases of our Massachusetts based cannabis extract laboratory. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Manager to oversee the day to day operations of a full-scale cannabis extraction facility.
Job Responsibilities:
- Hiring, training and supervising a team of extractors based on process needs
- Organizing the procurement and storage of material for extraction
- Developing and implementing extraction processes and protocols with a focus on quality
- Maximizing efficiency of extraction processes through data collection and continual improvement
- Organizing and executing maintenance of all extraction and processing equipment
- Assist with the designing and planning on future lab expansions
- Managing capex and lab budgets
- Collecting and reporting extensive data related to all production and extraction processes
- Setting standards for cleanliness and safety
You are:

- Up to date on cutting edge extraction and processing techniques
- Focused on industrial safety and hygiene
You have:
- Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, process engineering or other applicable STEM field (Masters or other graduate level preferred)
- Experience managing people in a chemical manufacturing or extraction facility
- Experience with cannabis extraction preferred
- Flexible schedule and can work weekends.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma or other lean techniques preferred but not required
- Experience managing a team of skilled workers
