The Lab Manufacturing-Production Manager will oversee all daily operations of the lab from production to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. They develop processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality and productivity.
You will be assisting with planning and directing an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. Ensure manufacturing performance, volume and quality goals are met by utilizing efficient methods and maintaining appropriate staffing levels. You will manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Extensive knowledge of department processes. You will also maintain our company culture and ensure that human resource issues are reported upon and dealt with in a timely manner. Ensure that the lab and employees adhere to OSHA and other regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results
- Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
- Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions
- Share a trusting relationship with workgroup, manage and develop lab staff
- Commit to lab safety procedures
- Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
- Address employees’ issues or grievances
- Stay up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts
- Increasing production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement and optimization of all processes.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years manufacturing-production plant/lab operations, plant/lab manager or lead operator experience preferred
- Excellent analytical skills, able to identify deviations, and take appropriate corrective action
- Strong leadership qualities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Have OSHA, Safety and Food Handling Training Certification
- Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs

Supervisory Responsibility:
- This position manages all employees of the production team and is responsible for performance management.
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Education:
- BS Degree in business management or related field preferred. Minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Operations Management.
