Position Summary:
As a Manager in Training, you will be expected to learn supervisory and technical skills that are in alignment with the company's mission, its retailing philosophies, and its operational strategies. This role will be as a trainee under at least one experienced Store Manager. You will learn the ins and outs of retail cannabis; including: merchandising, inventory management, vendor relationships, HR management, and store level bookkeeping. MITs will become experts in all aspects of store operations, starting primarily with budtending.

You will be expected to perform the following roles and responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Ensure excellent customer service in every transaction by every employee
- Exercise Final Authority Concerning Personnel. This includes:
- Manage, supervise, and direct the activities of Assistant Manager and Shift Lead(s).
- Recruit, hire, or fire employees.
- Train & develop staff to meet brand standards. Store Managers are responsible for setting policies and guidelines for employees in the accomplishment of their duties and goals.
- Finalize evaluations of each employee’s performance based on clearly communicated standards and expectations.
- Manage and Coordinate all Store Operations.
- Oversee daily accounting, inventory, vendor orders, cash balancing, and all related procedures.
- Finalize and approve scheduling.
- Set policy for compliance with MED, state, local, and federal regulations based on guidance.
- Finalize end of month inventory reconciliation.
- Set policy to develop and increase store performance, based on brand guidance, through marketing, customer service, community relationships, online reviews and Starbuds Loyalty Program.
- All other duties as assigned.
Additional Functions:
- Final responsibility for Metrc reporting and accuracy.
- Required to be “on-call” and respond to store emergencies at any time.
- Represent Starbuds in relationships with the public, community groups, professional organizations, and other governmental entities.
- Final responsibility for store-level human resources based on brand guidance.
Job Specifications:
- Knowledge and implementation of brand objectives.
- Knowledge of general management principles and practices.
- Ability to exercise discretionary authority.
- Ability to identify and solve problems at the store level; this should also include a continuous review of current systems for operational efficiency.
- Ability to communicate effectively and develop effective working relationships with staff and upper management.
- Knowledge of office equipment and computer software including Metrc, word, excel, and QuickBooks POS.
- Ability to carry / lift up to 40 pounds (100 pounds with assistance).
Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid MED Key Badge
- Must pass any and all required background checks
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred
- 2+ years of retail management experience
