We are stoked to have been named a Best Workplace 2018 by Crain’s Chicago Business. The Regional Compliance Manager is responsible for managing GTI’s compliance department operations in Florida. Specifically, you will ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, county and municipal laws, ordinances and regulations, including the specific cannabis regulations for that state. Responsibilities
  • Implement GTI’s policies, procedures, and best practices to promote compliance.
  • Conduct weekly audits of facilities (cultivation, processing and retail)
  • Collaborate with management weekly to compile compliance concerns, issues or violations.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance concerns, issues, or violations.
  • Act as the communication link between GTI and the regulators/inspectors.
  • Advise and partner with marketing and product development to ensure go to market is compliant
  • Stay up to date with changes in rules and regulations.
  • Ensure GTI’s Standard Operating Procedures comply with regulations and represent best practices.
  • Promote awareness and responsibility through training and regular communication across the enterprise.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree, Masters or JD preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of compliance experience, ideally in the regulated cannabis industry or another regulated industry, such as alcohol, gaming, tobacco, or financial services/insurance/lending.
  • Law firm and/or regulatory experience followed by an in-house corporate role is preferred. Unassailable integrity and ethics.
  • Ability to deliver on specific performance goals and effectively manage a team to achieve objectives through a constructive management style.
  • Interpersonall skills and credibility to operate as the communication link with regulators and inspectors.
  • Strong analytical skills, including demonstrated experience identifying and quantifying complex problems and providing effective resolutions.
  • Attend to detail while maintaining a big picture orientation.
  • Work under pressure on multiple tasks concurrently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent judgment; able to handle multiple projects and set priorities
  • Able and willing to handle a variety of tasks across a broad range of substantive areas and to learn new areas quickly.
  • Ability to understand the fluid nature of the cannabis industry and adapt without compromising the advisory role for which you were hired.
