Your opportunity at a glance
The WSLCB Information Technology Services Division is announcing an exciting opportunity for a non-permanent Management Analyst 3 - Project Coordinator position that will work with tracking the Cannabis Traceability System and Systems Modernization Projects (SMP) at the WSLCB. This position reports to the agency's Project Manager and is responsible for maintaining and monitoring plans, project schedules, project budgets, and project resourcing. The Project Coordinator independently uses senior-level analytical skills to track and analyze project performance indicators, drafts reports and provide recommendations to project team and executive agency management. In addition, this position performs a variety of analytical tasks related to planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling IT related projects. Duties
- Identify, implement and analyze project key performance indicators to monitor project health;
- Research, analyze, evaluate and correlate information from a variety of sources used to recommend changes to project scope, schedule, and/or budget.
- Develop both detailed and high-level narrative and graphic reports for a variety of audiences;
- Prepare and disseminate complex project management related reports for use by diverse groups.
- Perform a variety of research and analytical tasks which includes compiling, analyzing and preparing results in areas such as, but not limited to: Cost Management, Human Resource Management, Integration Management, Procurement Management, Quality Management, Risk Management, Scope Management, Time Management, and Vendor Management.
- Prepare, vet, finalize and maintain project related process documentation.
- Perform frequent quality control checks on project repositories.
- Collect and analyze data to help develop and / or revise project plans.
- Coordinate data collection and reporting efforts with vendor project managers.
- Organize and maintain project and system source data and/or files into logical concise and understandable order for retrieval if further analysis is needed.
- Provide written or presented instruction to project team members and executives on project governance and standard project management practices.
- Provide written or presented overview of findings from completed analysis.
- Work with IT resources to track changes to governing policies and standards.
- Work with business resources to track changes to scope-related rules and laws.
- Leverage general knowledge of project management and software development lifecycle to manage project related efforts.
- Coordinate project meetings, tasks and resource needs
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Criminal Justice or related field and two years of experience conducting research, analyzing and reporting data.
- A combination of education and comparable experience may substitute for educational degree.
- Three to five years of experience supporting large, complex, IT related projects.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to handle and maintain the integrity and confidentiality of highly sensitive material and information.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to review reports, data and trends to gather important identifiers such as methods and motives that can lead to better deployment of resources.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical reference.
- Techniques required to produce technical reports in an appropriate format, link charts, association matrices, intelligence bulletins, other specialized reports and graphic presentations.
- Ability to independently and proactively scope, assign and track work to completion.
- Ability to independently engage a range of resources from executive management to frontline personnel.
- General knowledge of project management principles.
- General knowledge of software development lifecycle.
- Willingness and ability to remain current on job procedures through various sources, training courses, and organizational meeting to keep abreast of current changes and events.
- Ability to independently comprehend and follow general direction that guides position's complex assignments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software usage, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and use of relational database.
