Machine Shop Assistant

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Assist in day to day operations in the machine shop, primarily making molds and assisting shop manager in the production and repair of cannabis extraction machines. Other responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, and cleaning the restroom. General work station cleanliness, organization, and attention to detail are requirements of the position. The ideal candidate will have creative/artistic abilities, familiarity with a color wheel, color matching, and should be comfortable working with epoxies, foams, silicone, urethane. Preferred candidates will have experience with casting molds, working with vacuum pumps and pressure pots, using calculators, scales, drills, mixers and various other tools. This position requires a current Colorado MED issued badge.

POSSIBLE JOB DUTIES

• Simple casting and mold making using epoxies, foam, and silicone.
• Color match to produce realistic casting of confectionary goods for display
• Use tools to assist with machine repairs.
• Assist shop manager with production and repair of extraction machines.
• Assist shop manager with parts management and maintenance.
• Maintain clean work environment in shop, office, and breakroom.
• Sweep shop floor, vacuum carpeted area and offices.
• Clean single restroom.
• Discard refuse and replace trash bags in restroom, office, shop.

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a Marijuana Enforcement Division badge
• Is able to lift up to 75lbs
• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• Cannabis knowledge and or industry experience is helpful but not necessary.
• Dependable mode of transportation.
• Self-motivated individuals with the ability to learn and take responsibility for their work environment.
• Attention to detail and good time management skills.
• Familiarity with basic tools and general problem-solving skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, you will frequently be required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear and occasionally required to climb stairs/ladders; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste or smell. You must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities usually required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. You must make your supervisor aware of any allergies. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate and is occasionally loud. While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to weather conditions prevailing at the time.

WORKING SITUATIONS

Requires some variable hours and on call response after regular business hours to meet the needs of the business. Requires some weekend, holiday and evening work for events or the ability to arrange coverage. These times include but are not limited to; Holidays, fundraisers, events, etc. Local travel for business purposes and occasional overnight travel for events, training, etc may also be required.
