Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the logistics of sourcing, packaging, and acquiring adequate levels of all materials required by Sweet Cannabis. The Coordinator will manage all aspects of the shipping routes and delivery, with specific regard for customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset with an aptitude for problem solving and efficiency and will exude passion for the industry.

Job Description:

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Operations and Supply Chain teams to establish, build and maintain contact for all matters specific to customers, partners and internal business division needs;
  • Collaborate with Senior Level Management to coordinate and manage all truck routes, delivery routes, and output from facility throughout the state of Oregon;
  • Utilize logistics IT to optimize shipping and transport procedures;
  • Arrange transportation and forwarding services for each order, ensuring on-time delivery of materials and goods according to pre-determined schedules;
  • Create strategic plans for sourcing, acquiring and maintaining adequate levels of all materials required;
  • Negotiate long-term contracts and ad-hoc orders;
  • Utilize cross-functional partners to ensure the highest standards of service; communicate with suppliers, retailers, and customers to ensure mutual satisfaction and profitable business;
  • Maintain all records and preparation of purchase orders with external vendors, updating files and systems in a timely manner;
  • Prepare accurate bills of lading;
  • Expedite all critical and time sensitive orders with local vendors, including contractors;
  • Research, review and compare shipping, vendor and freight rates and present cost-effective solutions for the business;
  • Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to release from facility;
  • Communicate progress of projected initiatives to internal and external stakeholders as appropriate;
  • Resolve day to day discrepancies and critical issues, escalating as required; track and analyze incorrect shipments to ensure issues are not repeated;
  • Respond to all customer inquiries and refer customers and vendors to appropriate business channels;
  • Assist other departmental personnel as required.

Qualifications:

Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with Oregon cannabis industry and culture, policies and state regulations;
  • Knowledge of state laws, regulations and ISO requirements;
  • Computer savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP);

Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including oral, written and listening;
  • Strong customer service skills;

Abilities:

  • Must be self-motivated, independent and able to work with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced and dynamic working environment;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and track multiple parallel processes; and
  • Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities.

Other Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain or relevant field; equivalent education and experience will be considered;
  • 3-5 years’ experience in logistics management and customer service required;
  • Experience with inventory maintenance considered an asset;
  • Must be minimum of 21 years of age;
  • Experience in the Oregon cannabis industry considered an asset.
