Looking for a current Law School 2L, 3L or Experienced Paralegal for a

Full Time/Part Time Internship in the Regulated Cannabis Industry.

Required Experience/Education

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • An advanced degree or certificate in legal research and drafting is highlypreferred, but real-world experience will be considered as a substitute on a case by case basis.
  • Experience in legal research, analysis and drafting.
  • Experience as an administrative assistant, office manager or other senior office administration role. Concentration on ability to independently organize and manage a large number of assigned tasks related to administrative actions.
  • Experience with municipal and/or state permitting and licensing process.
  • Experience in Corporate law, Business transactions, Land Use, and/ or Intellectual Property.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Expected to effectively communicate and build relationships with clients, local municipality, licensing authorities, etc.
  • Experience in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Experience in working with senior level executives.
  • Proactive independent worker with good judgment skills and foresight to escalate issues to senior management.

Compensation: $12 to $17 per hour based on experience.

Job Description: We are looking for a current second/third year law school student or experienced legal analyst interested in joining the fast-paced, ever-changing and innovative new world of the legalized cannabis industry. Applicants must be high energy, but meticulous – able to thrive in the fast-paced environment of a startup business while analyzing and applying newly created laws, regulations and ordinances to everyday business decisions. If you are highly organized, attentive to detail, patient and a self-starter with an interest in Business, Property and/or Administrative Law - you might be who we are looking for.

Applicants will work out of our Desert Hot Springs office, reporting and working directly with our organizations’ Director of Compliance and Licensing. Daily activities and responsibilities will vary widely, but you can expect to be challenged with novel legal and business issues as well as assisting our clients with meeting their regulatory and administrative obligations. Your internship will include researching and drafting compliance and business documents, reviewing contracts and proposals, interfacing with corporate attorneys and executives, and facing multiple other real world legal challenges that effect this new industry. Applicants should also be available to travel as your duties require. Applicants may expect to travel to the Los Angeles area up to several days per week or as necessary. Applicants must have reliable transportation and must be willing to travel as needed.
