Job Summary

Kush Bottles is looking for a Large Format Press Operator. The Large Format Press Operator must be a dependable self-starter capable of working independently and as a member of a team on a variety of Epson roll-to-roll printers, label finishers, cutters, plotters and Vanguard flat-bed UV presses. The candidate must have a positive attitude and work as a team member in a fast-paced environment.

Examples of Essential Functions:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Schedule and process work orders via Oracle Netsuite

• Maintain a current graphic/printing production board.

• Actively participating in a minimum of one scheduled production meeting a week with group operations to discuss upcoming workflow and team support.

• Continuous follow-up and meeting with Sales and Procurement teams for each account to obtain advanced production information.

• Manage scheduled printer maintenance and general service contractors.

• Assist in creating established guidelines and workflow for internal and external clients as related to graphics/printing.

• Work with the Purchasing Department on providing all the needed cost information.

• Establish and maintain department workflow and crew training.

• Creating and implementing general Graphics & Print Shop policies.

• Assist in creating internal Graphics and Print Shop menu of services and pricing guidelines.

• Printing products delivered on-time at all times (with coded paperwork).

• Maintains healthy and accurate stock levels of departmental supplies.

• Provide costing estimates for custom projects when needed.

• Provide cost reports as scheduled.

• Maintain a safe, organized and clean work environment. Experience working in a 5S environment a plus.

• Prepare graphic files for print.

• Manage outside vendor print jobs when needed.

• Supervise the cutting, mounting and lamination of finished print media.

Qualifications Guidelines

Education/training/experience:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in graphics and printing

• Quick learner with energy to drive aggressive and flexible deadlines

• Proficient with applicable printing software
• Familiarity with color management and ICC Profiles

• Experience with large format printing is a must

• Ability to read file sizes, prepare color collaborations, print and finish media

• Responsible for the pre-flighting and prepping of files for print production; layout and imposition
• Experience troubleshooting large scale printers

• Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including weekends

• Strong management and communication skills

• Self-starter with a great work ethic and demonstrated excellence in customer service

• Must be flexible and able to adapt to peak volume and rushed orders while maintaining a keen eye for detail and quality

Knowledge of:

• Proven working experience in a large/grand format print shop or as a Digital Press Operator
• Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
• Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite (Software)
• Previous experience of managing ICC color profiles
• Adequate knowledge of profiling media and calibration of printing equipment
• Positive attitude, detail and customer oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability
• Experience with operating roll-to-roll printers, roll-to-roll laminator and Summa Cutters

• The employee is required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb or crawl.

• The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
