LABORATORY TECHNICIANS WANTED

Ieso, LLC is currently seeking dedicated laboratory technicians to join our state-of-the-art extraction laboratory.

The laboratory technician will be responsible for navigating day-to-day laboratory operations as directed. This includes: preparing raw materials, extraction (CO2, hydrocarbon, alcohol, solventless), post-processing of extracts, distillation/purification, product preparation, and other general laboratory duties. Technicians must be familiar with basic lab practice and the fundamentals used in daily operation. Technicians will be responsible for maintaining compliance with the regulations set by the Illinois Department of Agriculture; this includes documentation of all cannabis-related products and performing random weekly audits. Applicants must have the ability to perform tedious tasks and must maintain sanitary conditions associated with the production of medicinal products.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform extractions using carbon dioxide, alcohol, hydrocarbon, and solventless methodology, as directed.
  • Perform post-processing and clean-up of extracts.
  • Perform distillations for purification of extracts.
  • Assist in the formulation of medicinal products.
  • Assist in research and development experiments.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on extraction instrumentation and other equipment.
  • Perform basic calculations and assess mathematical-based data.
  • Prepare and document samples for chemical analysis.
  • Quality assurance/quality control.
  • Coordinate/assist third-party laboratory testing.
  • Maintain inventory using state-mandated tracking system; proper documentation of waste.
  • Maintain organized documentation of data and batch production records.
  • Assist Illinois Department of Agriculture and Illinois State Police with random audits.
  • Perform any task as directed by the Director of Laboratory and Extraction Operations.
  • Assist other departments as necessary.

Minimum Qualification and Skills Required

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Bachelors of Science, preferred.
  • Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Basic understanding of methodology used in day-to-day operations.
  • Diligent record-keeping.
  • Ability to engage in research and method development.
  • Ability to perform tedious tasks.
  • Basic computer skills including the use of Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as state-mandated tracking system (with training).
  • Ability to perform basic calculations and assess mathematical-based data.
  • Basic understanding of analytical chemistry is preferred.
