Position: Laboratory Director
Candidate must be comfortable working with cannabis within a typical chemical/biological laboratory environment

Position Description
The Laboratory Director is ultimately responsible for oversight of the laboratory, its activities and its employees.
Minimum Qualifications
The Laboratory Director must, at a minimum, meet the following qualifications:
- PhD in a chemical or biological science from an accredited college or university
- MS in a chemical or biological science from an accredited college or university
- 5 years of full-time practical experience in a post-education laboratory performing analytical scientific testing in which the testing methods are or were recognized by a laboratory-accrediting body; or * BS in a chemical or biological science from an accredited college or university
- 7 years of full-time, post-education practical experience in a laboratory performing analytical scientific testing in which the testing methods are or were recognized by a laboratory-accrediting body.
The Laboratory Director must have the following experience:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Experience with analytical instrumentation (HPLC/DAD, LC/MS/MS, GC/FID, GC/MS, AA, qPCR)
Responsibilities
- Implementation and maintenance of Quality Assurance Program
- Oversee and direct scientific methods of the laboratory
- Establish and Adhere to written Standard Operating Procedures
- Ensure that laboratory employees have appropriate qualifications and training to perform tests for which the laboratory is certified for
- Ensure that the facility has adequate space, equipment, materials and controls to perform each test
- Ensure that the test methodologies selected are capable of providing the quality of results required
- Ensure that analysts perform the test methods as required
- Ensure consultation is available to clients relating to the quality of test results
- Ensure enrollment and adherence to a Proficiency Testing Program
- Ensure adherence to a Corrective Actions Plan
- Ensure the health and safety of all laboratory staff
- Ensure that all hazards are promptly and adequately addressed
- Supervise all testing laboratory personnel
- Oversee and direct the scientific methods of the laboratory
Physical Demands
- The supervisory chemist must be able to move about the laboratory.
- This position requires the ability to lift up to 50lbs.
