Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Lab Technician and Formulating Chemist with strong analytical, formulations, and organic chemistry knowledge for our Santa Cruz manufacturing and production center to lead the development and expansion of F2LHS and extracted and infused medical cannabis product line which will include cannabis tinctures, capsules, oromucosal sprays, waxes, and other products that can be administered to patients via several different methods.

Based in our F2LHS Santa Cruz manufacturing center, the Lab Technician and Formulating Chemist shall be responsible for maintaining, developing, and introducing new infused high-quality medical cannabis products and oils into safe, reliable, consistently dosed products for ingestion, inhalation, or topical application by patients.

Responsibilities include:

• Performing his/her duties in a safe manner and environment while adhering to all governmental regulations for this industry.
• Working in a team environment, with operations, marketing and management to develop and introduce new medical cannabis products while maintaining the current production levels of our existing products.
• This person will work to develop products for F2LHS operations and markets in California and other states when F2LHS gains licensing in those states. This person will lead new product startups in each location.
• Ensuring all extraction, post production, product formulation, filling and manufacturing procedures comply with FDA GMP’s, OSHA, and all state regulations, and applicable laboratory procedures.
• Oversee and audit Process Technician quality assurance testing documenting results.
• Developing and implementing quality assurance procedures to ensure F2LHS produces the highest quality processed medical cannabis products:
• Log all activities required by state licensing agencies.
• Managing lab and processing equipment supplies and inventory In addition to the above responsibilities, the shall ensure compliance and accuracy involving all product tracking, product safety and security, and product movement procedures.

Qualifications:

Our Lab Technician and Formulating Chemist must possess excellent formulating skills related to developing liquid, cream, and solid dose cannabis, pharmaceutical, or infused related products.

The ideal candidate should also possess a high degree of knowledge of Organic Chemistry, extraction technology involving organic liquids and compounds and plant extracts. Successful candidates will have proven experience in a medical cannabis, post-production, short path distillation and oil refining techniques, with a high attention to detail, organization skills, excellent communication skills with the ability to operate in a safe, detailed and accurate manner.

He/she will need to operate in a startup and emerging environment and be flexible to take on new and added responsibilities per the business’ growth needs. Must also possess good data logging, database, and material tracking skills to facilitate F2LHS strict compliance with state regulatory requirements for product tracking and tracing.

The ideal candidate will have at least two to five years of applicable medical cannabis, post-processing, extraction, pharmaceutical experience with a focus on ensuring product safety, consumer safety and satisfaction, and high product quality.

The ideal candidate must also possess at least a B.S. Chemistry degree or equivalent. This position requires the candidate to be able to lift 50-pounds.
