Laboratory Technician Job Duties:
- Full compliance with Company's standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Intake and process raw cannabis material into crude concentrate.
- Prepare equipment and plant materials for extraction.
- Document information by creating and maintaining accurate records.
- Secondary post processing: prepare cannabinoid concentrate for specific secondary refining processes.
- Maintain laboratory and equipment cleanliness to meet local and state requirements.
- Maintain inventory records of all plant materials, chemicals and equipment used in the lab.
- Responsible for operation, maintenance, and repair of all lab equipment.
- Perform clerical work regarding all lab-related activities: i.e. record-keeping, filing, phone inquires and computer work.
- Keep accurate laboratory inventorying in stock, placing orders, verifying receipts.
- Maintain adequate glassware by picking-up, cleaning, washing, sterilizing, and organizing.
- Assisting with outgoing packaging.
Desired Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any science-related field is required.
- Must have at least 2 years experience as an Extraction Lab Technician or in a related role within a lab setting.
- Must be proficient in principles of biochemistry, organic and nonorganic chemistry.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines for workplace safety and hazardous chemicals.
- Proficient in the scientific methods of measurements.
- Proficient in laboratory procedures, techniques and language used in a chemistry lab.
- Mechanical proficiency in understanding the operation of BHO, CO2, and VTA Distillate machines.
- Ability to service pressure vessel hoses and fittings.
- Excellent knowledge of equipment operations and repair procedures.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Team player.
