Lab Technician

We are seeking a Cannabis Labs Technician / Chemist (Long Beach, CA) (ISO 17025 certified)

The successful candidate should have a background in chemistry, biochemistry, or genetics, to join our team! You will be responsible for testing and analyzing cannabis and cannabis products for cannabinoids, residual solvent and processing chemicals, residual pesticides (65 pesticides), microbiological impurities (Aspergillus, E. Coli, etc), mycotoxins (Shiga Toxin / Salmonella), water content, filth and foreign materials (mold, foreign materials, Mammalian excreta), heavy metals, and terpenes prior to those products being sold in a legal dispensary within the state of California.

In addition to a competitive salary, VRX Labs offers its analysts the option to work a four day week (10 hours days), and receive a retention bonus of up to $5,000 every six months, if the technician's test results were accurate, and did not result in any significant retesting.

VRX Labs will also train the candidate on the various testing equipment prior to actually being placed in the lab.

Responsibilities:

• Collect, itemize, and prepare the sample for testing cannabis and cannabis related products
• Prepare samples for routine testing and analysis
• Properly record results for further analysis and easy reference
• Calibrate testing equipment
• Accurately record and track samples through seed to sale and / or LIMS
• Must be accurate in preparing samples, reading test results, and populating same in METRC system, and preparing summaries to the Supervising Analyst and Lab Director.
• Ability to work under time pressure to accurately complete daily testing quota.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a clinical technician or in other related fields
• Must have completed 2 years of college or university education that included coursework in biological, chemical, agricultural, environmental, or related sciences from an accredited college; OR

• 2 years of university (unspecified coursework), plus at least 3 years of full-time practical experience.

• Familiar with HPLC, UHPLC, LC-MS, GC-MS, GC and / or GC-MS system.
• Experience in a laboratory setting with hands on experience with these systems, in school or in industry.
• Meticulous and detail oriented in preparing samples and recording results within a Lab Information Management System (LIMS)
