Role: Laboratory Manager

Location: Los Angeles, CA (Relocation assistance available)

Compensation: Negotiable

Summary:

Our client is committed to defining consumer safety and quality assurance standards for the cannabis industry. We are a full-service testing laboratory offering a one-stop solution where cannabis cultivators and distributors can ensure that they are in full compliance with all regulatory requirements

The Laboratory Manager reports to the Laboratory Director. The Laboratory Manager is responsible for all the technical procedures, lab operations, and compliance with the ISO/IEC 17025 standard.

General Responsibilities:

  • Creation & Update laboratory technical procedures (analytical methods)
  • Enforce quality policy. Train technical staff on procedures and techniques
  • Responsible for data quality and review; Generation of analytical reports to customers
  • Participates in annual Management Review, and all internal or external audits
  • Manage purchasing, and storage of materials, including analytical, reference materials
  • Monitoring of maintenance of analytical instrumentation
  • Evaluate both OOS & CAPA reports with the Laboratory Director and Quality department.
  • Provided Opinions and Interpretations when necessary regarding the quality and meaning of analytical data contained within analytical reports provided to customers.

Education and experience required:

  • Bachelor's degree in a science field with a minimum of five years' experience in analytical laboratory management.
  • MS or PhD degree in science field with a minimum of 2 years of Cannabis experience.
  • Management experience

Physical Requirements: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus as well as work on a computer for extended periods of time.
